To ensure the proper level of marketing is done.

One of GCU's many dirty little secrets being revealed to the new posters for the first time...05-stirthepot

So it’s kinda like Tarleton paying the Purple Poo or the Plowboys?

Seems like it would be more of an honored position if it was somehow earned.

Wait yall pay those guys??

No. I was just using them as an example.
I'm sure no one is being paid. Those complex sets of dance moves being done by thousands of people coordinated perfectly to the piped in music just happened spontaneously, at GCU, the for profit, yet nothing quite like it exists at any other school, even those with 100+ years of basketball tradition. It only developed at GCU lol. And totally organically at that! Wow.

Makes perfect sense. Totally believable. Would the school that spends hundreds of millions of Wall Street money marketing and promoting itself be expected to do sports in a non business-like fashion?
“Paying student leaders?”

You mean elected student government types, or are we talking capos like people who coordinate supporters sections for MLS and USL games?

Example (10 years old at that)… https://youtu.be/CbrndHhCiYo

The Havoc leaders (capos)
Interestingly, speaking of basketball facilities, GCU doesn't own GCU Arena, so I'm not sure exactly how much say they have in what happens there. Since I believe the for profit company owns and operates it for their own profit, GCU leases it from them.

In most relationships like that, the buildings owners have great sway in what goes on in their building as far as generating revenue. And crowds are what generate revenue.
NMSU is in the process of replacing the center score board at the PAC. The old one has now been removed.

I’ve heard something along those lines also. I would like to find out if it’s true.

100% not true.

Wrong. The Havoc leaders are paid. They’re the owns leading the chants even when they are 30 points down. Yeah, that’s normal

Does that look like the old frame from the old video board or is it the new frame? Kind of hard to tell.

Good question King, to me it looks like the frame of the old board. Whether they plan to re-purpose it or not, I am not sure. Either way, can't wait to see what it looks like when they are done!

GO AGGIES!!!
I think the frame part you see is not much more than a blank set of mounting brackets that hold all the parts you can see that are outward facing.
New scoreboard being installed...

It looks bigger then what i thought it would look like.
New Mexico State's new video board is huge. They're still installing it. Volleyball plays Saturday so it will probably be done within the next few days.

I guess they are redoing the floor as well.

MM said it probably would not be completed in time for the scrimmage this weekend but will be ready for the fist VB game.

That's good. Looking forward to seeing what it looks like completed.
