Wowza

OUCH!
10 goals to Omaha? Completely embarrassing. We better get our stuff together or this could be an incredibly long season.
I'd say i'm done making game threads for the year, lol
Wow . Ouch 04-chairshot
Bussi's out for the rest of the pod per Murray which realistically ends this season.

Honestly... id shut Bussi down for the season... there is no point in putting him out there in front of this defense... give him an extra year and let the current team grow up a bit...

Take our lumps and move on to next season.

These guys need another year of D1 weight training... we were getting muscled all over the ice against Omaha... it was hard to watch.
give this season a sample size. Some of you are ready move on to next season after two freakin games. Yeah game two was a sh$t show but game one we looked really solid, started a lot of freshman, lost our starting goalie (who has not been ruled out for season yet , the pod ends in two weeks, season goes on till March) , and lost on a fluke of all fluke goals. Yeah game 3 might not be pretty going up against the number one team in the country. But let these freshman and team grow. Giving up and moving on after two games is not what this hockey program needs from its fan base. I sense some growth coming , might not be right away, but it will come. Remember , we play in the SEC of hockey now, where this conference has won the last 4 natys .

I respect your positivity.. but we all saw this coming. Just look at the talent we production we lost from last season, and we weren't exactly playing like a north dakota last year... we were going to a significant down turn...

We played pedestrian against a St Cloud team that is also dealing with a HUGE influx of new blood... and lost. Andy better have a better excuse than our #1 goalie went down... he's been here long enough to build some depth... Cain is just plain awful.... we all saw it... in TWO GAMES... he's just not good... you should have a better backup at this point.

Young guys look talented but completely overmatched physically out there...

It's going to be a long year... but we have to build from somewhere. I hope they surprise me... I have watched both games so far and honestly we don't look good.

“We all saw this coming” is the whole point. It’s been two freakin games that were both very different. And SCSU had its new blood rebuild LAST year. They are now picked 4th in the best conference in America which is probably a top 15 national ranking.

It.s going to be a long year for sure , i said it last year but i'm not a fair weather fan . i will stick with this team thru thick and thin it just happens that we are in the thin part .

Hockey wise i just hope AM does not grind these boys to a stand still . I can and will live with mistakes that's how you learn the game , but i still want to see compete .01-lauramac2

Move to the CCHA. NCHC doesn't do crap for us. We're just the punching bag for the good teams. In the CCHA we'd be the big fish in the pond w/ Bowling Green. Would rather compete for conference titles then lose in the first round NCHC title & be happy w/ #20 every year.

Here we go again. The old conference argument again. NCHC has gotten us more professional talent to come to the program. We probably also got the underserved national ranking of #17 this season do to being in the NCHC. Btw, Minnesota state has clearly been the big fish over there as of late, not BG

Totally agree. I also don't buy that the NCHC got us all of this pro talent. Culhane had LOADS of pro guys come through the program.

CCHA - WMU, BGSU, LSSU, NMU, MTU, Ferris, Miami, +1 (maybe Notre Dame, Mercyhurst, St. Thomas?)

NCHC - Omaha, Duluth, CC, Denver, Bemidji, MSU-Mankato, NoDak, SCSU
Looks like we are the new Alabama Huntsville of nchc this year

Lol. Culhane, the same coach who had us towards the bottom of the Ccha year in and year out and never had a winning record. Also the NCHC gets 3 to 4 teams into the national tournament. Ccha gets 2.

I don't want to backtrack - yesterday was a bad day - but this is still a relatively young league & we've been by no stretch an easy out except for a couple years. I don't want to pick on AM, but I'd have to see what another coach or two could do here before making a final decision.

Either way the NCHC exit fees are out of our budget. I'd still like to see the arena deal w/ the K-Wings. An off-campus arena isn't big an issue it's made out to be. Most students drive or get rides from friends anyways, & they could have shuttle busses like they do for football. There's also the 'what about basketball' comments, but I like Read. Just needs the stands & court to be oriented the right way. You could then convert Lawson to a practice facility. Doesn't have to be special.

BTW, St Thomas did get admitted to the new CCHA. I still like to see Minnesota St & Bemidji St in the CCHA if us & Miami joined it, but the NCHC would need to fill a couple slots if we & Miami left. I think they'd give Arizona St a harder look. The other slot, I'm not as sure about.

Seriously...I thought the conference literally folding would have ended the debate. But, I guess not.

Before Game 1 you had no idea we graduated all our players.

Then you told us don't sweat it, it's a rebuilding year.

Now you want us to leave the conference.

Man...your takes change fast.

I'm treating this like 2 seasons now.

Total punt on the pod. We're not gonna do anything w/o Bussi.

I want to see us take steps after the new year. Just play good hockey. We're not making the tournament. Just want to go into next year with a little momentum.

we have never even been a bottom feeder in the NCHC . We have finished on average 5th place. I’m happy if we can grow year in year out to be top 4. That would have has us in the national tournament year in and out.
