UTEP fans should be ready to see your offense put up more points than you have in a game in years.
How good is UTEP rushing defense?

If the Miners are suspect up front, it could be a very ugly day in El Paso. Adaway could be in the backfield Saturday. If he is healthy, he should be a force. He is without a doubt the best RB North Texas has, and maybe the biggest weapon UNT has on offense.

UTEP held LA Tech to 91 yds rushing, and only 210 Total yds. Then again, our demented head coach called so many stupid plays it's hard to know whether the low output was due to Holtz or UTEP.

The strength of UTEP is on the lines IMO. We couldn’t get anything going in between the tackles, most of our rushing production came from bouncing it outside.

UTEP should not have been able to control the line of scrimmage against LT. UNT's o-line is not as good as LA Tech's. Our defense looks a little better up front since the twins are getting playing time at the DE spots, but they are young and going to make freshmen mistakes. This UNT@UTEP game is tough to predict.

That is good to know. When Bean is in, our outside rushing game is solid.
I have no expectation going into this game. Yes, Bean was terrific last game but he wasn't good earlier in the season. We'll see if we can build some momentum off our last game.
In UTEP's 2 conference games the Miners have held a slight edge in total yardage and a big edge in mistakes. Vs LT the Miners committed 95 yards in penalties in the 1st half with a td nullified due to penalty. Vs Charlotte they had 3 turnovers plus a UTEP int was negated for lining up in the neutral zone. The Miners defense is improved quite a bit over last year but the offense is error prone.

I think UTEP can compete with most cusa teams but actually winning is another thing that has yet to happen.
By the way, due to a covid spike in El Paso, no fans will be allowed at the game.
Game was postponed by UNT because El Paso is so bad right now.

El Paso is spiking in covid cases but the team is healthy and protocols for visiting team hotel, food etc are good and provide a safe environment. Obviously teams are not allowed out and about no matter where the game is played. UNT should have made the trip but nothing to be done now. Have a great season.
Plan is to try and play it 12/5 or 12/12 depending on how the remainder of the season plays out. NT didn't want to wait around for UTEP to finally cancel the game on Thursday or Friday. Hope all goes well considering and we can get the game in later.

UTEP was not going to cancel. Hopefully UNT can make it in Dec.
Very disappointed in North Texas. I understand if you’re scared stay home.
Definitely miffed at UNT right now, but it seems my UTEP family think it was wise to postpone. This game better get played in December.
The team with 3 active cases doesn’t want to play against the team that has had zero cases all year. Makes sense, if you’re UNT.
