This is the old one.

I saw a reporter from the Athletic post on twitter they are putting one together. They had a number of schools inquire even when they had not announced they were playing, so they feel confident.
Good for UMass. Hope it works out for them.
I guess there just wasn't anybody left to play in the spring, particularly if the MAC comes back next month. Not even UConn is available in the spring - schedule would probably have had a bunch of Albany, Maine, UNH, URI, Holy Cross type opponents that UMass feels they left behind years ago when they went FBS.
Good for UMass. I wish the program well this season.
I wonder if UMass and UConn have given any thought to a return to FCS. I bet America East’s 4 schools and URI would be happy to accommodate the pair in a new FCS league. Maybe toss Monmouth in there too.

At this point, I don’t get why they are at the FBS level.
Potential UMass Schedule with seven games? Only one FCS opponent for now though perhaps could juggle something and can get another FCS on one of the 'open dates' (I am sure some $$$ would convince Houston Baptist?)

Oct 3 Houston
Oct 10 Georgia State
Oct 17 Stephen F Austin
Oct 24 East Carolina
Oct 31 Army

Nov 7 OFF
Nov 14 BYU
Nov 21 OFF
Nov 28 Liberty
OMG, can not believe mis-read the email. So Happy, regardless of no fans in the stadium!!!! Guess my season deposit will be added to my Gridiron donation.

On a related note, what is Randy Edsall's contract bonus for finishing a season without a loss?

USFFan
Thanks TexasTerror.
My hope is more east coast to limit cost, but would do BYU and the previously scheduled home game with New Mexico State.

How about ending the season on Nov 14 with 6 games or play Liberty very late Nov 28th.

Oct 17 UConn
Oct 24 East Carolina
Oct 31 Army
Nov 7 New Mexico State
Nov 14 BYU or Charlotte

How about these 8 games.

Code:
UConn
ODU
Army
East Carolina
George State
Liberty
BYU
New Mexico State

3 of those programs still aren't playing and have not signalled any willingness to do so.
UCF needs more games. UMass@UCF

Doesn’t help our SOS but it certainly helps the financial budget having another home game for revenue.

Oct 31 is a nice bye time of year for you guys.
Army would be great for travel expenses being less than 100 miles away.
Updated my earlier reply from TexasTerror with dates.
Great to hear this - good luck going forward with the season. 02-13-banana 02-13-banana COGS COGS 04-cheers

Revised the post with dates, took out ODU and add Charlotte and as UCF fan, ArmoredUpKnight says, they have an opening as well.
I don't think ECU would play UMass we only have one bye week once we start this week and would probably leave it open in case we have to move any conference games.

Has there been any word about NMST and UCONN trying to play?

We had discussion with UConn playing in the Spring, will probably hear tonight.
Not sure about NMSU, but playing is a win. Playing 6 games would be great and seems very possible.

You guys had a great program for a long time. Stopped nearby off 95 on my trip from the 2014 NCAA in Raleigh. Had hoped to play you guys. My room mate at Fort Polk, who convinced me to go Airborne with him was recruited for ECU in the mid 70's but had a knee injury. So was aware of ECU and we did play you guys in the Tangerine Bowl in the mid 60's. Needless to say had hope to see a game down there someday.

Revised Schedule:
Oct 17 UConn
Oct 24 New Mexico State
Oct 31 Army
Nov 7 Marshall
Nov 14 BYU or Charlotte
Nov 28 Liberty
