Looks like Women's schedule is mirror image of guys so when we go to Hofstra opening weekend, women host Hofstra.
Elon is Friday/Sunday so a day of travel in between.
I don't think a schedule like this would be so bad, even in non-pandemic years. It would save lots of travel expenses. Also, the press release did not mention fans in the stands. Is that a school-by-school decision?
Local media is discussing 30% capacity for CofC. Not that it matters for the men but maybe I’ll get to see the Tribe Women a couple of times.
Tribe dead last

Well, he isn't wrong on his reasoning.

I expect a higher finish though and this will be a team that I think runs and defends as it figures out its offensive identity during the year.
I for one expect us to do better that dead last. You heard it here first!

Actually, you're #2. Mr J is credited as being the first to boldly pick us to finish better than 10th. Very courageous prediction, indeed.

It will take a miracle in Williamsburg and a rash of injuries from other teams for the Tribe to avoid playing in the Dean Keener/Louis Rowe invitational round of the CAA tournament.
We will be competitive if:
Wight is the real deal and gives us post offense
Covington starts and scores in double digits
One other freshman is a high minutes contributor
Lowewe plays as well as last season

We will not be competitive if:
Harvey sits the bench and we have no size on defense
We try to run and gun and trade 2's for 3's
Loewe gets hurt

In conference I could see us win 2-4 games.
If the toughness and defense are there, I think they will be competitive in most games. I think they give up some wins that they should pocket and perhaps squeeze out some unexpected victories. I think Dane will have them ready.
I think Covid is the darkhorse for all programs. Lineups may be a crapshoot weekend to weekend, if, the basketball season doesn't get shutdown all together. Standings may come down to which programs best manage the Covid protocols.
No way does this team finish last...while Nate and Van Vliet are gone there is a high level of talent and athleticism in this group
that will make them competitive in most games. Plus the CAA is as even as we've seen in recent years.

And I give a big plus to our coaching staff....they know what they're doing.

If you had heard Dane and his staff on the "Zoom" the other night you would never figure the team for dead last.

On the other hand, I’ve never heard a head coach say in a pre-season press conference “we’re really going to suck this year.”
The exciting things about a young and unproven team is 1) anything can happen; 2) coaching makes a big difference. I’m also in the go-out-on-a-limb club to say we’re not going to finish dead last haha. But I wouldn’t be surprised by any finish tbh, including Top 3. We have a strong senior leader, a solid coach, and a lot of athletic but completely unproven pieces. Anything could happen, including us being really good.

CAA CoY has his work cut out for him.

I'm curious to see who becomes the go to guy when we need a bucket. Conventional thinking says it's Loewe, but I'm not so sure. I think someone steps in as a bigger force than we are expecting. There are a lot of unknown and unidentified pieces on this team that could easily go 10-12 deep. I think we are better than last in the CAA, but we don't have enough known ingredients in the cupboard right now to make a real run.
I, of course, want to win. But, my realistic expectations are solid preparation and steady play with improvements as the season progresses and guys gain experience and confidence.

When looking for Silver Linings... Of all of the years to be a total rebuilding year, this "free" year (I know I'm oversimplifying) sure isn't a bad time for it to happen.

My feelings about this year changed once we signed Yuri Covington. For us to be respectable this year, Yuri will need to be really good really quickly. Way too much to ask of a freshman but a fan can dream.

This was always going to be our dose of reality year no matter who the coach was. Granted, if Tony were still here our roster would still include LJ and Chase, but we would be having to adjust to a roster that lost Justin and Matt along with Nathan and Andy.
