Yes. This type of playcalling has killed us for weeks. I don't get it. When you aren't winning the line of scrimmage to open holes you can't keep being so predictable on first down.
I think Dez starts. Different game plan to defend in back to back weeks.
Creo que este es un buen punto. Sorprendería a Memphis con un tipo diferente de plan de juego centrado en Ridder, pero no sé si confío en que los entrenadores ofensivos inventen un plan que engañe a los Tigres.
I think the question to ask is...

Is Ridder a better passer than Bryant is a runner? We're gonna need both.

At least we have this going for us. We can withstand a QB injury. If White goes down, what does Memphis have?
I don't think 100% healthy Dez is an option, so I'd start Bryant.

If Dez is 100% or at least VERY close then it's him. No inside knowledge but I doubt that he will be the case regardless of what he or the coaches say. So then I go with Bryant and consider bringing Des in for a few plays here and there. Adjust as necessary.
If Des is healthy he starts. Info on him is very hard to come by.

We played by far the best team we've played since Ohio State. This wasn't ****** ECU or ****** USF where we squeaked out wins playing significantly worse football.
So I was at the game, and got to see both QBs warmup on the sideline, simulate plays, etc.

No reason for this discussion. Des is not ready to throw next week, or probably the rest of the season. Now he could come in for some RPO and very short tosses. So Ben will be starting next week.

And Denbrock, please DON'T allow Ben to run!

They absolutely need Ben to run MORE. Memphis sold out hard on the running back resulting in a ton of tackles for loss. Bryant had a lot of running room (and finally took advantage a couple times). They need to have a couple more looks off the basic zone read setup.. whether it's Bryant keeping a few more times, faking and setting up a screen, a couple RPO looks etc. UC's rushing numbers weren't bad because there were yards to be had when they got to the second level, but Memphis sent numbers in run blitzes inside and made getting to the second level difficult, which put UC behind on 2nd/third down too often.
I do scratch my head about play calling. Where are the screens? They dump pass to the RB, jet sweeps? Warren made some great runs, but there was not a lot of openings thru the line. I like CLF, but I don't like the 1980's B10 play calling.

So you want 2 injured QBs.

Anybody can get injured on any play. just ask Carson Palmer. Don’t handcuff your offense because you are worried about what will happen less than 1% of the time...

me too. Either QB can lead us to victory over Memphis. We're going to have to put up a lot of points though.
I think you play both. Two different looks the Memphis D will have to prepare for with Ridder’s legs and Bryant’s arm.

I think the QB competition is wide open next year. Prater will redshirt and compete the following year.

And yet we still scored the same number of points, and in Bryant's first start and not even with 100% of the first team snaps. Higher floor, higher ceiling.
I will quote Mr. Bains and agree that Bryant should start. And enough with the running Des vs the passing Ben. I thought Bryant ran very well and has a cannon for an arm. He ran more like Collaros than Pike.

”Cincinnati had 2 first downs through the air against Temple, they had 4 against South Florida. UC had ELEVEN (11!!!) passing first downs tonight against Memphis. If anything, that stat alone should make Bryant a starter next week.”[/i]
I'd start the real QB. No need for 2 RB sets.

Since you only know how to use the stat wins and losses regardless of anything else surrounding the game or other circumstances; How did Ridder do in his last road game against a ranked opponent?
