Richmond looks tough too, but we can beat any of them. This team has been good at times. The offense has got to get figured out, and it starts with tempo. I knew it was too much to hope for to see a JJ team running and getting early shots up, he just couldn't let it keep going. We are back to doing what JJ's teams always do offensively and don't have the players to play that way. That said, you have to rebound effectively to run, and that is a problem that is on the players right now. The front court is a disaster. I didn't expect much scoring in the post, but there is no reason that group shouldn't be able to get after it on the glass.

Finally, for the love of all things good can dudes stop passing up wide open 3 pointers. I know some will claim this is not on JJ, but we continually see this every year. It can't be coincidence. Players want to shoot. They have to be broken to (Curry & Green) pass up wide open 3 pointers for no reason at all.

BJ and Godwin seem to be the only ones unaffected by it recently. Last night on two straight possessions late in the game, they moved it around really well and Wade was left with a ton of space on the perimeter. He thought about it and passed off to the top of the key. On both possessions, we ended up with two prayers right at the end of the shot clock. Neither resulted in any points (one was blocked).

Yep. X passed up a couple and Curry passed up at least one also.

This is not an anomaly. This has been a hallmark of JJ's teams. It seems the guys think to much rather than doing what is right in front of them.

Because they are afraid to get chewed out infant of everyone and / or getting yanked out if they make 1 mistake offensively or defensively.

Some of us knew what DD brought to the team. I and other thought if he could get more drive and motivation he could be a solid contributor. I guess the original analysis of his abilities and desires have been validated.

Neither Green or Curry get chewed out for taking open 3s. Move along.

I still think DD has potential, but needs to develop a mean streak, somewhere between Trey Porter and Mr. Rogers.

Just a week ago the Greek kid was cleared to practice. Jones said it would take him about a month to be ready for game action so we may see him before Christmas.

I think he entered the game tonight at the end. Let's hope he can give us a presence that we surely lack.

IIRC Dickens had more game in the early part of the season last year. He seemed to lose his game as the season wore on and has picked up where he left off. I really wonder if JJ's style just gets into some kids heads and maybe not others.

My friend he has been that way since HS. That dog won't hunt.

Bull...curry took a bad 3 and next possession missed an easy open pass to the right player. JJ went postal and pulled him.

ding ding ding....we have a winner. JJ knew what he was getting in DD. Yelling at him isn't going to change him. He has been chewed on by many more beside JJ. Over recruit him and sit him on the bench at the end.

SOFT, especially up front, is never one of those things. Tired of the indecisive offense. Everyone ******* about JJ. Late in the game, Godwin has just hit a couple threes. We got a rebound and both Xavier and Curry passed up early open jump shots. Every coach including JJ was screaming for them to shoot the ball. Kids need to man up, they need an attitude adjustment. I actually think this team will be pretty damn good. But their record might be complete trash before that happens. I’m not sure they can beat anyone today... don’t feel good about this tournament or the entire non conference slate for that matter. Our best player can’t throw it in the ocean right now. Other than all that we look ok. Haha. Go Monarchs.

The team will be good by the end of the year, but it's going to take some time. I was worried about our leadership this year. X has horrific body language. We lost the ultimate leader last year.

Good is relative.

Blaine’s teams were good.

These kids will be mediocre at best, the talent just flat out isn’t there, especially in the post.

We went from having guys like Dahi, vv, loughton, Lee, Frank the tank etc to what we have now, dickens and carver........kids who either can’t score or can’t rebound, totally incomplete players.

Our skill level hasn’t been anywhere near Blaine’s heydays a single solitary time under Jeff jones.

This is not even remotely disputable.
^He's right. JJ might be a good coach, but he doesn't have good players, Caver and Freeman aside. No complete teams.

Good is definitely relative. I want to be good enough to win the conference tournament again this year. I think it can happen, but a lot of things need to change. We all knew this was going to be a slow start Razor. Come on...Even you know that there needs to be some patience with this group.

YES YES YES. When Oliver becomes eligible, run the 4 guards and a big. Limit those bigs to Kalu, Carver, Reece, and the Greek if he can give a couple of minutes.

Mr Big Blu, didn't you say that the Greek is a long way away and we wouldn't see him this year? Do you delete all the posts that are wrong or just the ones proven wrong in less than 12 hours?
