Would be very nice if ECU could get the gigantic monkey off its back. 30 regional appearances without making it to Omaha. Pretty certain that's the most of any school without breaking thru.

For the record, Coastal Carolina was a member of the Big South and moved to the Sun Belt conference after they won the College World Series.

Correct - A Sun Belt conference team has never won the College World Series while a member of the Sun Belt.

Yeah I was somewhat shocked to find out they had never been before. Strong tradition at that school.
Louisville's the first team to punch their ticket to Omaha. Unless Duke can channel the Babe Ruth-era Yankees over the course of 3 innings, it looks like Vandy's next.
Louisville looking very confident and rolling right now. Congratulations!

Cardinals!
Texas Tech is back for the 4th time in 6 years.

Not bad for a political parasite/tagalong who doesn't belong in a P5 conference. LOL

Thanks.
Congratulations to Michigan for making the CWS and upsetting the #1 Seed U.C.L.A. in Los Angeles! Big 10 is in the CWS which is a nice milestone for recent times. PAC is eliminated from the CWS.

First time for Michigan since 1984 and Barry Larkin played infield.

Coastal won the CWS and officially joined the Sun Belt eight hours later. Hell of a day for the Chants.
30 regional appearances without a trip to Omaha is impressive, but how’s about 23 appearances in Omaha without a title? That’s where we (FSU) are right now. Hoping that fortunes change for us this time, it would be an insane fairytale ending with how this season has gone and with Martin retiring. Not holding my breath but we have got fire, so who knows.

Beating LSU in Baton Rouge 2-0 is extremely impressive.

This may be FSU's year. 04-cheers

And since then, have only won two NCAA Tourney games (LIU and FAMU) while being eliminated early (even when they hosted).
Game started at 1pm, North Carolina! Maybe they show up sometime after 2pm?

13 runs in the 1st inning for Auburn...

Has it ever happened when three of the teams are nationally ranked and even the 4 seed finishes with 40 wins?

One thing probably a bit more unique for California vs. the others on this list, is the number of good teams spread around in different conferences, making them easier to put in the same region.

That and the fact that California is the size of several east coast states combined.
