Dang, you're making it tougher to keep hating ODU.

You're our *****. Not about to let a bunch of Sun Belters come in here and take shots at you like that. You're on your own dealing with Marshall fans though.

edit: Seriously though, I think people that take Charlotte basketball lightly will be in for a rude awakening the next few years. I hope football take a similar path as well but we have yet to see any of that product.

Anyone talking realignment needs to consider basketball when thinking about teams. WOW. Louisiana is the only Sun Belt team with decent attendance.

WOW!!!!!!! 04-jawdrop I am saving this post for later.

And yet both CUSA and the Sun Belt are one-bid leagues

It's almost like having 5k in attendance instead of 3k is negligible because in the grand scheme of things, CUSA and the Sun Belt are on the same level. Who'da thunk it?

As long as we keep Sanchez, we won't be anyone's ***** by next year and you were our ***** on the gridiron this past year. Get used to that too, cause if we could do it with Lambert, Healy is going to destroy y'all. 04-cheers

Tennessee is #1 in the nation in basketball right now but will make millions more (to the tune of 5x) off of their 5-7 football team for the 2018-2019 year.

haha... Can't wait for the next re-alignment. I would love to see the look on the faces of the left over AAC schools when Sun Belt teams tell them they don't care about basketball.

Yes. Charlotte. Upon further research you were a much better add than most of the Sun Belt.

It's obvious CUSA valued basketball in the last round of realignment and it will eventually pay off for us as a conference.
Marshall is a basketball school now. Wow, who knew?

psst. basketball will have VERY little to do with the next realignment in 2023-24

WRONG. Marshall has 3 times the average attendance of majority of Sun Belt. Equivalent to you averaging 20k/game in football and saying a school averaging 60k isn't that big of a deal lol.

Also, we get better seeds with our one bid which has resulted in us winning our first round game every year. That's an extra NCAA unit which definitely adds up.

I would venture to say that our NIT bids dwarf yours, but no time to look it up right now.

We are both. Which is why we would be one of the top candidates for any sort of realignment.

You won't even sniff the AAC with your basketball attendance.

I won't make any definitive claims about App State's prospects in the next realignment. But again, basketball, especially at the mid-major/G5 level, has VERY little to do with realignment. Read the article, especially the part I quoted.

In the grand scheme of things maybe the differences don't matter. As college basketball fans it matters very much.
Since 2014 CUSA has 8 NIT bids.....since 2013 it is 11 NIT bids.

Sun Belt has a total of NIT bids since 2013.

All time bids.......

CUSA Schools- 88 NIT Bids

Sun Belt Schools- 29 NIT Bids.

All Time NCAA Tournament Bids......

CUSA Schools- 113 Bids

Sun Belt Schools- 49
clt updates the chat page.

odu and charlotte vs the sun belt.

marshall vs progress

appy vs irrelevance.

haha....I'm being serious. I'm glad our conference put a focus on basketball. Just a matter of time til this conference starts getting 2 bids per year. Charlotte will play a big part in that.

Well Marshall football > App football so its not like we are just a basketball school.

Also I don't care what that article says. If you don't think the American schools will strongly consider basketball if/when realignment happens then you are sadly mistaken.

Marshall, ODU, and WKU average more in one game than App State has had all year. That's pretty significant.

Sorry, but 3 times is 3 times. Outside of Louisana and Troy, Marshall averages AT LEAST 3 times more than every team in CUSA.

How much of that football money you getting? I can tell you right now the difference in CFP payouts between the SB and CUSA are small compared to the ticket sales and donations ODU basketball brings in. UNC and Louisville are talking millions of dollars (tens of millions even) we're talking hundreds of thousands. If that changes then we'll talk.
