Four down!

AutoZone Liberty Bowl/3:45 p.m. ET, ESPN
Missouri vs. Oklahoma State +9
Okie St 38 (7-6)
Mizzou 33 (8-5)

I believe Coach Gundy is 9-4 in bowls.

Conference Results:
CUSA (4-2)
MWC (3-2)
P12 (3-2)
Sun (3-2)
ACC (5-4)
B12 (3-3)
SEC (3-3)
B1G (2-3)
AAC (2-4)
MAC (1-5)
Lol there are people on here calling bogus on the Power6 narrative because of the AAC's bowl record. It's too bad we can't be associated with other such power conferences as CUSA, MWC, and Sun Belt.

2009 Orange Bowl VT (21) 20 UC (12) 10
2012 BCS Championship Bama (2) 42 ND (1) 14
2016 Fiesta Bowl Ohio St (7) 44 ND (8) 28
2018 Cotton Bowl Clemson (2) 30 ND (3) 3

ND has never won a BCS/NY6 bowl, 0-6, every loss by 14 plus, and 4 by 27 or more.
We all knew ND was a product of the schedule. Just beat Ball State. just beat Pitt. The MI win as meaningless was made known by MI being destroyed by to$u and FL. They beat Navy by 22 but the next week UC beat Navy by 42. Some of the other wins were against name schools having bad years.

How could the committee fail to see it? A wise man told me "If you wonder about something the answer is follow the money."

I don't understand why it is so hard to understand. The transitive property does not work in football.

ND deserved to be in the playoff based on their regular season accomplishments. Turns out they are not one of the 4 best teams. Both can be true.

The set up is flawed and ND used the system to their advantage. College football fans need to stop worrying about finding the best teams. No other sport does.

That said I'm not going to watch this boring matchup again.

Transitive property can be cherry picked to prove your point in any sport. Doesn't change the fact that ucf was every bit as deserving as nd.
5 of 6 complete.

San Diego County Credit Union Holiday Bowl/7 p.m. ET, FS1
Northwestern vs. Utah -6.5
NW 31 (9-5)
Utes 20 (9-5)

3rd Bowl win in a row for Coach Fitzgerald.

Conference Results:
CUSA (4-2)
MWC (3-2)
Sun (3-2)
ACC (5-4)
B1G (3-3)
B12 (3-3)
SEC (3-3)
P12 (3-3)
AAC (2-4)
MAC (1-5)
Well gents, today concludes the College Football Bowl Season. Here are today's slate of games...

Tuesday, Jan. 1
Outback Bowl/Noon ET, ESPN2
Mississippi State vs. Iowa +7

VRBO Citrus Bowl/1 p.m. ET, ABC
Kentucky vs. Penn State -5.5

PlayStation Fiesta Bowl/1 p.m. ET, ESPN
No. 11 LSU vs. No. 8 UCF +7.5

Rose Bowl Game Presented by Northwestern Mutual/5 p.m. ET, ESPN
No. 9 Washington vs. No. 6 Ohio State -6.5

Allstate Sugar Bowl/8:45 p.m. ET, ESPN
No. 15 Texas vs. No. 5 Georgia -11.5

I look for Ohio State (Urban's last game) and Georgia (miffed they got left out of CFP) to win big in their bowls. FWIW, Urban is 11-3 in bowls for his career.

Updated conference bowl results after last night's TXAM thrashing of NC State 52-13:

Conference Results:
CUSA (4-2)
MWC (3-2)
Sun (3-2)
SEC (4-3)
ACC (5-5)
B1G (3-3)
B12 (3-3)
P12 (3-3)
AAC (2-4)
MAC (1-5)
OSU wins huge. P12 is awful and non-playoff games typically come down to motivation. That team is going to be all out to send Meyer home a winner and they're infinitely more talented.
Good Lord LSU QB Joe Burrow took a monster shot that may have knocked him out of the game. It looked like a clean hit but it just about separated his head from his shoulders. Football is a violent game...
UCF will not be able to win with the media spiel. If they lose the game it is because they can't compete with the SEC. If they win it will portrayed as meaningless due to a number of LSU's defensive players being out.

And UCF has a back up QB. If UCF starts throwing the ball a lot, a lot of slants, quick outs on 1st and 2nd down, and they ditch the dumb play fake to the RB they will win this game.
ESPN completely piling on the P5/G5 narrative. Sorry but UCF isn't nearly the same without Milton but you'd never hear that from the announcers. Unapologetically pushing their agenda.
Maybe ucf should use the Auburn excuse of not being into the game, since they were left out of the playoffs

Not having Milton hurts UCF but how many teams at this point are playing backups at key positions and adapt? Most of them including UCF's opponent LSU. You could argue LSU has more backups playing than UCF.

If Milton not being under center is the sole cause of the loss for UCF then maybe UCF was too dependent on Milton. Additionally it's not like Milton went out today and they had to adapt on the fly, UCF has had weeks to get ready with their #2QB.

LSU > UCF
Two time conference player of the year is unable to play, yet UCF only loses to one of the SEC's best by 8 points.

That makes UCF with a backup QB look better than Notre Dame, the entire Big12, PAC12, most of the ACC and most if not all of the B1G.
UCF lost by one TD with a guy who missed his last 10 throws. Milton was a top 5 QB in the country. They score more TDs with him and pick up more first downs which would help level the time of possession discrepancy. I watched the game and agree LSU was much more talented.

My issue is they're using this to say UCF doesn't deserve to be considered. I actually agree this year's UCF isn't that good. However last year's UCF was much better and I think they would have been competitive with the playoff teams.
You can play the what if game all day long. At the end of the day, LSU was the better team today but UCF hung in there and played a respectable game (despite what the b.s. announcers would have you believe).
Milton was - hopefully will be - an elite college QB. IMO with Milton UCF wins. We were lucky yesterday to have a quality veteran available. As I said earlier I think with Ridder we romp yesterday.

There are key players and there are key players in key positions.
Are people seriously arguing that losing a star quarterback like Milton isn't a confounding factor? Teams who excel despite QB injuries are few and far in between. OSU winning the Natty Championship or the Eagles winning the Super Bowl with the backup is not, under any circumstances, normal.

Get real. Milton would've made a huge difference. Perhaps not game altering. But discrediting his absence is nonsensical.
Not only that, Milton was injured at the end of the season... Which means you have a rookie back-up QB who is thrown directly into the fire, with no chance to "learn and adapt."

Sorry, but Milton is an elite QB and any team losing him, especially on the last game of the season, would be seriously handicapped. UCF did extremely well to show up as well as they did.

People are discrediting his absence because there was an actual game played today and he wasn't in it. Anything else is just fodder.
