He did. They edited it out. 02-13-banana

I have missed those days for quite a while now. They were awesome! They gave up one big run, but shut the freaking door the rest of the game.

We were the easiest game on UCLA's schedule. There is a very real chance that they only win one or two games this season. They have talent though...They are like us, and very young in a complete transition stage. Even if UCLA ends up winless this season it is still a good win.

That UCLA team had speed, and talent...it just may come together this season. That RB who had the 74 yard TD run had more speed than anyone on our team.

I felt going into tonight that UCLA was a four win team. I can’t see them getting that number. This UC teams looks like 2006 all over again. i would that right now if anything close to 2007 through 2009 followed. Beat Miami!!!

Honest to God, I said the exact same thing to a couple buddies i was watching the game with. This team feels lole the '05-'06 teams...extremely young, but a lot of solid players, and people you can easily see making great strides already.

"I don't see this as a program defining win for Coach Fickell. I still say there's no excitement around this program and no one really cares."

The OL is doing much better when not put in an "we are going to pass" mode. I felt a little bit sorry for Moore, but Ridder is a better match for this OL.

Yeah, I'm not as down on Hayden as most seem to be (especially given our win tonight) but it does seem like he has a real problem with his peripheral vision or maybe it's just awareness. Whatever it is, it seems to find him and take advantage of him all too often to both his and UC's detriment. Ridder wasn't all that great throwing the ball tonight, but I agree that he seems to be a better fit for our personnel and offense right now.

Anyway, great win and an especially nice way to start the season! Without looking it up, I'm guessing that's gotta be Fickell's top win as a HC.
Upper right hand corner is the Bohn Bear Hug...

Lay off the Ripple. Who the hell are the forekins?

People sometimes call Miami OH The Foreskins (see Redskins now PC Red Hawks). I opened a bottle of Opus One to celebrate.
(09-01-2018 07:53 PM)ucbandguy Wrote: [ -> ]I like our defense so far. The only UCLA touchdown was off a turnover, not a drive. And it is nice to see QBs getting chased and sacked.

Wouldn't it be nice if the announcers knew who the UC defenders were? Very little identification of who is making plays.

Exactly. I guess all of our defensive players are named "tackler" because that's the only name I heard them called most plays.
Building a program up from Camp Higher Ground to Week One and beyond...

Noticed that as well

Same here. Ridder did a terrific job of catching most of them cleanly and getting on with the play.

Here ya' go gents...
Cincinnati vs. schools currently in the PAC-12:
Arizona State: 2-0
Colorado: 0-1 (1972)
Oregon State: 2-0
Washington: 0-1 (1974)
UCLA: 1-0

So, since 1974, we have not lost to any schools that are currently in the PAC-12.

The offense certainly looks the same as it did back then. The passing game mostly looked like we were playing in a phone booth.
On the way out the UCLA fans sounded remarkably similar to our fans After some of the games last season.
