Is there any word on season tkt sales?
I know when Bowen hosted 92.9, he said we were further along than last season. I would say we will be well above 25,000.... but I admit that is more guess than fact.
TigerNole said we have set a record for basketball season ticket sales already.

good stuff, that will make me sleep easier tonight
They are getting scarce. We tried to add back some tickets we had let go and the ones we used to have and all around the ones we still have were already gone.

Good to know, thanks. I recall a thread a few months ago about the FedEx seating event where it looked like about 75% or more of the lower two tiers seats were sold. I surmise more season tickets will sell before season’s start.
Last year we set a record for football season tix sales. This year, Bowen expects us to pass it. We may have already passed it - I can't recall exactly what he said on the radio.

I have not heard that we have set a record for basketball tix. I know things are going well and we're getting a nice rebound. But I would be surprised if we are at a record level right now.

Bowen said that football was higher than this time last season.

Basketball, according to more than one source, is at an all-time pace as well. I know I was told you can't get multiple seats together on floor level and the first bowl is more than 80% sold. With ticket sales remaining somewhat steady.

I don't think we set a record last season.

I wasn't sure, but according to Giannotto we did.

Quote:Last year, when the Tigers averaged 36,302 fans per game, Memphis sold a record 22,500 season tickets. Its average attendance (36,302) ranked fifth among Group of Five schools, behind only BYU (56,267), San Diego State (39,347), UCF (36,846) and ECU (36,727).

Tiger fans need to step up

Yeah, I've heard both are on record paces. But that's not the same as breaking the record, like someone said above. With football, we're bound to be getting close as the season approaches. With basketball, there's still too much time to claim the record based upon pace.
either way, its a good time to be a TIGER

Anyone saying basketball is on a record pace is full of it. When Cal was here, if you didn't get your contribution in by May 31, your tickets were fair game unless you called and made special arrangements. 15K sold by May 31st. If we are ahead of that we will average capacity lol. y'all younguns are just ignorant. i don't know what to say about the veterans believing this BS.

I doubt you're open to a reasonable discussion on the matter, but it's probably the difference between renewals and new sales. Our new sales are probably on a record pace, given the fall-off we've experienced the past 3 years.

Explain to me how I am being unreasonable when someone makes an obviously false claim the second weak of August after the University adniitted season ticket sales were at the lowest rate since Moe Iba?

Again, I don’t know it could be on record pace as in 2007-2009 (and probably several other years) we were sold out of seats that required donations except for scattered singles by May 31st? I was buying 6 LL tickets at the time with a healthy donation per seat and remember calculating the interest income alone from May to October on approx $20M.
Shooters is just wrong. It is what it is. Anything he says dealing with math is almost always wrong!!

I might have misunderstood what was meant by all-time pace, but I don't think so. I even said if he can find floor seats other than under the visitors goal, I would help buy them.

Season ticket sells were bad for last season, NOT this season.

Football, our best ever season tickets sold was a few over 22,000 which happened last season. We are on pace to break that record this season, but not sure if they will break 25,000. I know their goal is more than 28,000. I hope they smash that number.

I think he might have his facts incorrect on that one. Our home schedule in 1976 consisted of Ole Miss, Florida State, SMU, Auburn, Mississippi State, Wichita State and Tennessee. I recall RC Johnson saying on the radio one time that we sold approximately 30K season tickets that season.

That's entirely possible (from the 1977 media guide):

If we sold 30,000 season tickets, then I'm shocked because we drew just over 30,000 multiple times that season.

I've heard from multiple sources that RC inflated season ticket sales in football most years he was here. I do miss the giveaways they used to have for season ticket holders though.
I personally didn't believe RC back then.

What we do know is we sold 22,500 season tickets in 2017 and I believe the 2018 goal is 25,000 with a stretch goal of 28,000.

GTG!!
