I'm amazed someone on this board used the word clairvoyant in the correct context.

It was impressive. Hats off to CMT.

Even Penny said he doesn't want a team full of 5* guys.

You need them absolutely but you also need those who are willing to play their role(Baugh, ALo) Every kid thinks they will make it to the NBA from 1 star to 5 stars.
With a lot of 5* those aspirations ramp up quite a bit.
It turns into hero ball and guys not willing to play their role.

Right now we have a good mix of guys. I'd like to add Watford and maybe LQ. But honestly I'd be fine if it was Watford and we were done.

There would be a massive logjam with Watford, Hurt, Precious, DJ. There's only one ball and 40min. That's 4 guys basically at the same position. My guess is that won't end well.

To me it looks more like 4 guys for the most part who can interchange across both forward spots. 20 minutes a game is not a problem when there is talent and depth. I'm sure penny would love there to be no drop off so his team can play at the high level pace they want.

I'd add in Jones, Boyce, and LQ(if he were to commit) to that 3 spot as well. Either way its a lot of guys. Its all about who's willing to play their role. It's hard to do with any group of guys but especially the elite guys. Somebody is gonna have to be okay with being the 8th or 9th guy off the bench.
Glad I don't have to make those decisions.

Typically college basketball coaches play the best 5 guys every minute they can and as the season goes on the rotation gets tighter and tighter. Kirk had Turner often playing 40 minutes.

Hardaway, I think, will take more of the NBA approach and we've seen it a little this season, playing 9 guys quite a bit. Especially when he has 10-12 players worthy of playing time next year. I think you'll see the 2-3 best guys getting 25-30 minutes, 4-6 guys getting 20 minutes and the rest getting 10-15. That's the best way to be ready at the end of the season. That way everybody's ready and an injury or foul trouble won't be the end of the world.

COGS This is very exciting to witness, the system that has been put into place here.... With the national attention coming, along with the apparel, clothing deals for coaches, playing in an NBA arena coupled with opponents coming up. Shaping up to be One Heck of a ride..... WE R MEMPHIS !

Clairvoyant does not have a wide range of meanings or interpretations and has been used in this forum before.

When is the last time Memphis has signed a top 10 white kid from a northern state like Minnesota that was offered and HEAVILY recruited by all the blue bloods?

I'm pretty sure it's never happened in like the 80/90 year history of our basketball program.

I just go with the percentages.

And I have no idea where he will go but just from common sense I will give you 5 options (and none are Memphis)....UNC, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas or the longshot would be the big school from his home state, Minnesota.
If we sign Hurt, I will never ever ever question Penny and staff on a targeted recruit again.

On that y'all have my word.

This should have happened when Penny signed Wiseman. Considering you posted over and over again how Wiseman would never sign with Memphis/Penny.

The bigger point is why people can’t just enjoy where the program is right now with our recruiting is odd.

The 2019 class is already excellent, it’s going to be better than that. The 2020 class will be great too. Enjoy.

Good lord dude. Wiseman literally played for Penny in high school. How hard should that be to sign a guy who played for you in high school? The only thing that gave me pause was the Kentucky/Calipari money machine that was already deeply involved in his recruitment.

I am enjoying all of that. The question is why can't I express my opinion without you whining about it. Stop being so damn sensitive.

I think we have no chance of getting Hurt, or Precious for that matter. I also think Penny has knocked it out of the park in recruiting. Those 2 things are not mutually exclusive. I don't think Penny is a failure because he won't sign some top 10 stud from Minnesota that Duke and the other bluebloods covet. It's almost impossible for a program like Memphis to do that.

My main point is that Penny has built the great wall of China around Memphis so far when it comes to recruiting. And that is GREAT!!!! But to take the next step nationally I would like for us to be able to get a top 100 player from elsewhere. That's it. Nothing more, nothing less.
Now, back to what I posted before....if we get Hurt or Achiuwa, I will never 2nd guess Penny's recruiting again.

You’re a drama queen. That being said, Penny will land top talent outside of Memphis. Maybe you will stop with this crap then. I doubt it though.

So it has to be Achiuwa or Hurt, for you to stop questioning Penny? Laughable.

What if it’s Watford? Or Quinones? Or Green? Or Hampton?

Remind us how those hot takes went in regards to Penny never becoming the head coach of the Tigers. Or how he didn’t want the job. Or the popular all he wants to do is play golf.

How did those hot takes go about Wiseman? 03-lmfao

Also you suck at hot takes and predictions. See Penny as coach. And Wiseman. Two huge hot takes you swung and missed on.
