We can't beat Toledo once, let alone twice.

CMU beatable. EMU at huskie stadium... beatable. Toledo at their place , our place, soldier field, the moon....not beatable this year

CMU is not beatable. No matter how bad they may be, we will not beat CMU. We have no clue how to beat CMU.

Our track record seems to confirm this.

Beating CMU will be a victory well worth celebrating, if it happens.

Buffalo is more talented with Anderson than we are.
You cannot pretend to be a solid MAC West contender with arguably the worst special teams unit.
TOledo and WMU arguably might also be more talented than NIU this year.

We have an unreliable kicker.
We have unreliable punt coverage.(this has improved)
Oir punter is fantastic

True we have an excellent punter.
Our kickoff coverage team has been an Achilles heal.
With all speed and talent it surprises me how poor we are performing.

Does it seem like we allow the other team's kick coverage to run free after the snap? Doesn't seem like we are designed to block them.

Agreed. I think Graham comes back as the starter once healthy. I really was hoping we could find a consistent starter but Childers looked great on the ground but his deep to mid accuracy was atrocious. I don't know if he can improve enough for us to challenge in the west. Graham doesn't fumble at the goal line and probably completes have of Childers misses.

Childers did get some first downs with his legs we didn't get the other games this year.

If Graham starts , I will have run out of adjectives

Agree on most points. Not sure that Graham is better than Childers?
Our RB's despite two transfers from P5 schools we are not strong at that position.
Huff has major injury problems.

If we do win the MAC West or even compete for it, it would be despite our talent.
I'm not sure Graham is better either. I just think Carey is so frustrated that the qbs keeping making TOs that he will go back to the guy who is more secure with it.

Anyone have the 411 on our #2 RB who was number 1 to start the year? Jones. I saw him on sidelines with pads.

Yeah I can't speak from CMU curse or hex. But on paper NIU is more talented than CMU

+1 Santa is high risk, high reward. Obviously has moved the ball better than anyone thus far, but you can't allow the turnovers. Childers is suited for our offense, but can't seem to make key passes or hold onto the football. Graham is the safest bet, but his ability to move the ball is so inconsistent.

This is not an easy QB battle for the coaches to decide. Someone just has to take and own it.
If their QB doesn’t get injured we probably lose that game. A win is a win though, but man why is our Head Coach so stubborn?

This year I think they are!
This was the win that guarantees they'll get to 6 wins so NIU can get its butt kicked by some Sun Belt team in a bowl game on a weekday afternoon.

The good thing is, no one cares about bowl games

Last game of the year. Maybe CMU won't care.
Guessing that NIU wins 3 of the remaining 6 games.
Ending regular season 7-5 , conference and 5-3. Wins over BGSU, EMU and BSU(the Bronze stalk).
Depending on the injuries to QB, RB and other major players will determine if NIU gets to be competitive against a Sunbelt Team.

The sun belt is trash, CUSA on the other hand is much better than the MAC.

That would be negatory. MAC > CUSA by a good amount. Massey composites back that up too
We're 4-2 after a tough non-conf schedule and our predictions are now ending the season at 6-7 with a bad bowl appearance? Man it's crazy what one down season in 10 years can do to a fan base...maybe for the better since some used to expect 12-1 every year.

When do things to shoot yourself in the foot, that's what drives people crazy
