Troy at South Alabama
6:30 CST • ESPN-U
Line: Troy -9

Well it's officially HATE WEEK. What say you jaguars and belt fans???
Radio reports are saying that the crowd is expected to be large for this one. Maybe up to 30,000.

I have no idea what to say on this one. Normal logic simply doesn't apply when it comes to USA this year.
I know last week got out of hand, but what a great 3 weeks of TV for the belt! stAte and Ga So, App and UL, and now another big match up. For the old heads of the SBC, we sure have come a long way.
Troy has close to 10 busses full of students booked I last heard
Right now, for my team, this game against Troy State is our season. Yes we have a lot of games left, but we have to get a conference win, and this one is the one to get.

This win could get us to 8 wins. This loss could get us to 4 wins....

Time to wake up for conference play!!!!

GO JAGS!!!!

At least we don't have to play at Movie Gallery Stadium.....
Not really sure what to expect in this game. We are good enough to win, and bad enough to be blown out by halftime. If we play like we did against SDSU we win, if we play like we did in any other game, we lose...bad. I just can't get excited about this game this year. The excitement of beating MSU and SDSU quickly faded with a poor offensive performance against state, ULL and GS. I just hope the 30k plus fans expected to be there will have something exciting to watch. We usually lay an egg in front of large crowds.

I hope for an injury free, exciting game. May the better team win.

Follow that up with App @ GS next Thursday, historically a great game even when one program is somewhat down, a few that come to mind:

1996 App upsets GS
1999 App
2007 GS
2010 GS

"The battle for the belt" is an awesome idea helps build up the game between Troy and USA and helps establish conference rivalries
Rootin' for you Jags.
I wouldn't be surprised if USA comes out and just smashes the Trojans in the mouth for a big win... shortly to be followed by a double-digit loss to Presbyterian.

And you'd likely be just one in a small handful (both scenarios I mean).
For one week I'm a fan of USA even though they gave me my worst night of Sunbelt football back on a cold night in Boone in 2014.

Go Jags!!!04-rock
USA may win this. If history has told us anything, it tells us that USA gets up for games that are important to them and not every opponent is created equal in their eyes. The defense is good enough to win and the offense has shown the capability to play well against good defenses in SDSU and MSU, and play horrid against Southern and stAte. Who shows up is dependent upon the opponent.
You guys should be hoping for a win for the conference. A 1 loss Troy is likely to get ranked if 11-1. Better SBC perception which is what we need.

And if your team App or stAte beats a 1 loss Troy that makes you look better.

A USA win over Troy makes the conference look more diluted

This has gotten to be a great rivalry. Troy is on a roll and South is topsy-turvy. Both schools respect and "hate" eachother at the same time. To me, this is what college football is supposed to be. Go Jags!

Yeah. I'm saying South could win, but I can't imagine a scenario where you guys win big and smash us up and down the field.
