App may have genned up a little more interest when they come to your home town with fans salivating over the opportunity. The perception gives to us all throughout the season. Nice work CrAppy! GS needed a little jazzing to get up for our game. Much positive in the Sun Belt unless your Wolfbird and think you have a better path to success for A state.

You'll have your shot against Ole Miss and Georgia Tech. Arkansas State fan logic seems to be that they hope for a close loss so the new conference members don't look like they may actually be surpassing an established FBS program, despite App and Southern coming in with a collective 9 National Championships.

"We were all hoping for a close loss to help boost the conference profile yet make sure that App doesn't seem like the better team in the event of a tie for the conference championship."

How about not generalizing an entire fanbase, based on a half dozen fans?
Appreciate it.

The loudest voices generally overshadow the rest of you. Between pupbird and Seminole Indian (supposedly not a fan though I'm not sure he isn't Blake Anderson), it gets tiring really quick.
It's really only two wolves fans. I encourage fans of other programs (especially App fans) to place those two on ignore. If you don't get their "humor" it's just going to piss you off and they don't provide enough football insight to warrant reading their posts, then the rest of us have to sift through more BS.
So it appears that App fans and GS fans are now allies in that we collectively want Ark State to eat our dust.
Imo,Cusa made an error by not inviting Ga Southern and App State. The Belt has a very good shot of moving ahead of Cusa this year in terms of hierarchy.

Here is one Red Wolf fan that pulled hard for App last night. A win could have been big for the conference and App State. I am kinda sick of these moral victories. We need to make this type of game a win and the App guys did their part. Thought the coaches let the players down somewhat by refusing to open up the short passing later in the game. Your QB is experienced and I was shocked to see him run the last play rather than throwing into the ground to halt the game.for a kick attempt. The guys played their hearts out and had the better team I think. Very tough loss that should not have happened IMO.

After getting back at 3 am from that loss this video absolutely made my day! We got ourselves a team and one hell of a defense! That tackle at th line man oh man! The last three minutes of this video classic!

Don't tar State fans with the comment by one small minded one. A-State fans were pulling hard for App last night and App had the better team IMO. We pull for the conference teams when it's OOC every time. Am still pissed that it was only a moral victory. We do not need any more of these.

Ironic that you're complaining about what gave you the most notoriety. It reminds me when a musician gets pissed off when people want them to play their most popular (overplayed) song.

I get it though. You don't want to live in the past, but be known for what you are now.

Weren't you in the C-USA game thread mentioning the fact that you don't want the Sun Belt's collective head to get too big due to an App State win, and here you are.

And then the La Tech fan shows up and all of the sudden the Sun Belt fans have a collective enemy.

Despite that, the football talent aficionado Seminole shows up to declare Arkansas State the undisputed Paper Champions of the NCAA while saying App and Southern are in the lower tier in terms of talent and coaching. Then you have State fans pulling for a close loss in the event a shared championship occurs. What they fail to realize is that the last time a newbie came to "The Bank" to play, they lost. As such, I believe it to be more productive to be focused on winning against Georgia Southern than focusing on whether or not App loses to Tennessee; mainly due to the fact that Southern gets App at home and State has no home field advantage to speak of.

Not a good spot to be in for Ark state. We all just messin. Looking forward to playing ASU finally. Looks like another fun season ahead.

I'm now going to try to make it a point to see the Southern and Tech game. Hopefully there isn't a ton of drop off due to the change in coaching staff but it should be helpful to note that Tulane only scored 3 points last night. It would appear that losing Fritz may have been for the best as he has now scored only 10 points in his last two games against the likes of the might Demon Deacons and Georgia State.
App State deserves a hell of lot of credit for their performance last night. Well-coached, talented players, who played with discipline and desire, and just as important, they weren't awed by the circumstances in the least. App State showed out, and everyone in this conference should be proud of the Mountaineers.

Eric, we have fans who honestly think we're going 12-0 this year and would be disappointed with less. It's putting the cart WAY before the horse, but those guys are thinking access bowl, and App needed to lose for part of that to happen. Not much you can do about that.

Then you have Seminole, who intentionally says what he does because he knows it gets a rise out of you guys, and makes you mad at AState fans, who he has a major beef against after we ran him off our message board.

WolfBird does it simply to troll you. He knows it irritates you, and enjoys watching it to happen.

If you would simply hit the ignore button, we're not having this discussion. Instead, you're helping them out by responding every single time.

It's the Vault. Last ******* thing this league needs is another name war.

Everyone just needs to admit you love Seminole and Bird, you don't quote me, you don't quote Chiefsfan, you don't quote ASUWon.

You need Seminole and Bird, you want them up on that wall.

great effort apps. when it takes overtime and a couple of missed kicks for one of the best sec teams to beat an sbc team it makes us all stand proud.

I apologize. I thought I read it as the Bank earlier from someone else.
Congrats to App State of hella job on the road.

I know at this level we don't want moral victories. We want the real damn thing. I didn't get to watch it as I was on the hill watching our own game. But I followed it on my phone checking the score often. Was pulling for you guys to pull it out. Being a border state with Hilljack Tennessee I detest the Tennessee Voles. When they play UK I don't know who I hate more.

You guys have done a great job since moving up and nothing about it has surprised me. You've always been a good program. I will always expect you to be a good program. I know it hurts this morning. You can what if yourself to death after a game like last night but you guys did well. Good luck rest of the year.

Man, it's a shame that poor clock management probably cost you guys a win at the end of regulation, but I thought your team played lights out last night. The TV shots of the crowd when you guys were up 13-3 were priceless.

It was funny. App had a good contingent there, maybe 5k? It was impressive

It was relatively close and Appalachian travels well. I knew a half dozen people that went to the game, some live in Raleigh, some in Chattanooga.

A guy I know from my local watering hole in St. Louis, MO went to the game last night...My guess is he'll be in Boone in 2 weeks for the Miami game too...
