Do you know something that the rest of us dont know? There hasnt been any details released yet so Im wondering how you know this.

Right on time worshiping the conference

Get over it, you are in the ACC for at least 20 more years

20 years , yikes.....Well this means nothing really to us in regards to money, it does shore up the conference.

And they did it willingly with Eyes wide open.
All is well.

The ACC will stay together and got its network and a better deal.

The Big 12 and every CR blogger all bet wrong on the ACC's weakness.

Jim Delany had no "master plan" to grab ND, North Carolina, Virginia, etc...

Buckaineer, the Dude and others are in fetal positions.

ND stays independent at least through 2036 with its structural ACC deal extended.

SPOT ON04-rock
Anyone paying attention could see this deal coming from a mile away. It was always bizarre to me that so many people - internally and externally - kept insisting that it wasn't going to happen whenever the people on the inside kept dropping hints that it CLEARLY was in the works.

Weird.

And right after the B1G deal is done........nice.

How many OT's in basketball does this mean?

BTW, speaking on behalf of the only P5 conference that would allow you to have this arrangement......you're welcome.

If you say anything but "thank you" TerryD, I suggest you go join another conference.
I understand the ACC makes a little money with you as a partial but don't push it.

Let this sink in

The ACC extended the grant of rights last time around with the network being a part of that. What came of that extension? Absolutely nothing

Now ESPN has bent over the acc again. A new gor extension giving them the acc network they should have got with the first gor extension. But swoffie is a genius!... Yeah right

The big 10 and sec will get to renegotiate before the acc and widen the gap again.

The acc has to wait 3 years when the sec waited 1 after the announcement. This after plenty of delays to even give a date. The big 10 will have an 11 year head start on the acc. But swoffie is so innovative!... Yeah right

ESPN will continue to treat the acc as second tier citizens. Look at how they cover the sec compared to the acc. When fsu had a qb recruit hit a woman on video ESPN was all up in arms to kick the kid out. When Mississippi state has a qb recruit do the same thing , they are debating if the kid should get 3 games out instead of one.

But hey let's celebrate being locked in with them for 20 more years!

The acc doesn't put forth the best football matchups. Cuse and bc both being with the 2 best football programs is ridiculous. But hey let's celebrate being in a league that doesn't maximize its best assets in the biggest revenue sport!

The acc fanboys won't notice any of this though.
Probably related to when ESPN renegotiates with major cable companies WRT bundles.

This.

I would expect there will be quite a bit of stuff related to ND especially on the streaming site. (Historical games?, merchandise?) Curious if ND gets a bigger slice.

I guess the other question is what happens now to the ACC app and ACC DN?
9 FB and 20 BB conference games?
Money?

Let's see the details.....

TO CATCH THE CONSCIENCE OF THE KING

ND would have joined, if it wanted to join, at the time this thing was announced.

It did not.

Instead, ND and the ACC extended the current membership deal until 2036.

The ACC's new grant of rights also automatically extends Notre Dame's contract with the conference as a member in all sports but football through 2035-36, a source said. If the Irish forgo football independence in the next 20 years, they are contracted to join the ACC.

THERE'S STILL TIME
I'm not sure if I'm in the minority on this, but I enjoy our arrangement with ND. The Clemson - ND game last fall was an incredible game and a ratings bonanza. It's mutually beneficial. We'd love to have ND all in with football, but there is no reason to be unhappy with the current deal. If they did join, working out the schedule details with pods, divisions, etc. would be a real headache.

You may be in the minority, but you are certainly not alone. It definitely benefits the ACC to get those guaranteed marquee football games basically without having to pay for them (other than an occasional bowl slot which, if it's an ACC bowl, the ACC gets a cut of that, too)... the basketball is a nice add on.

Now, you are the "bitterender"

This is the White Paper, the blueprint, master plan of ND and the ACC for the next twenty years.....

This is the structure we will have for two decades. Locked into place.

...and it does not include ND football joining the conference, in fact, it memoralizes and freezes the status quo in place.
