Middle Tenn has only lost one game, but that was to us so we have a two game lead on this conference and I think we play Marshall twice.
Still don't know if the Herd's for real.
Scoring 90+ points a game indicates some degree of realness. James Kelly is for real.

CUSA said the same thing this time last year about UAB.

Eight teams with 2-3 conference records. Amazing......

Yeah, if you can score like that on a consistent basis, you can't beat anybody. 5-0 is 5-0, I don't care who you've played. Only two teams in the conference have that record, and only 3 have fewer than 2 losses.

Note I didn't say they weren't for real.
Its ours to take, I think 25 wins is realistic at this point

Marshall will be a tough game on the road
MTSU nearly jumped into the top 50 after yesterday. If they only lose one or two more conference games do they have a short at getting an at large?

Note, I didn't "imply" that you did Smaug.

lol
Probably not. They could be on the bubble if they only lose one or two games going into the league tournament, but they will likely finish the season with zero Top 50 wins.

I never thought we could win 25 regular season games and not even be able to do the FN Bubble Watch® this year.

Best wins are against Belmont and Auburn. Going undefeated the rest of the way would give them an RPI of 32. 22-6 record would be a 40 RPI, 21-7 a 51 RPI. Their SOS would be in the 130's. They would probably be a bubble team but on the wrong side of it. Belmont currently has a 65 RPI and could become a Top 50 win for MTSU if Belmont wins out or lose just one more game.

UAB could get a Top 50 RPI win if MTSU were to go 22-6.
If MTSU beats us next month in the 'boro we would be tied, right ?
Yep. Tiebreaker would be our win percentage vs the 3 seed, and then in tied again, continued all the way down.
We play Marshall on the 30th and next month on the 25th. The away game will be televised on CBSSN. The home game presently won't be, but I wonder if someone will pick it up.

There is a very real chance UAB vs. Marshall on the 30th will be a C-USA unbeaten vs. unbeaten match, but first of course we have to go through a home stand against Rice and North Texas, plus one away game at WKU!

I wouldn't be surprised if Marshall had 2-3 losses by the 30th. The success since Elmore become eligible leads to some optimism but the Herd plays @ Charlotte, @ ODU and hosts MTSU before playing the Blazers. If they go through that 4 game stretch with no more than 2 losses I will be pleased.
Everyone here puts a lot more emphasis on the RPI than the committee does. Its less important what your RPI than how many RPI top50 wins you have.

Remember the Eye Test. Always used against UAB in the past. This year if we finish strong the eye test might benefit us more than the RPI.

And since we are lost in the unseen CUSA, the last time a lot of the committee will have seen us was lat years tournament.

If VMI had not been vindictive of Elmore leaving and actually done what was right in releasing him from his scholarship, I don't think we would have but 2 maybe 3 losses. We are a completely different team with him at PG.

To your first paragraph, don't believe for a moment the committee doesn't place an emphasis on RPI. If RPI wins matter than your RPI has to matter as well. Particularly when it comes to at-large bids, RPI and the eye test comes into play. No matter how flawed the RPI may be, it is still an important factor the committee looks at.

To your last two paragraphs, if UAB is in the conversation for an at-large bid, our resume will be scrutinize and not go unnoticed or under the radar by the committee. UAB may past the eye test but will our resume and SOS past the mustard with the committee?
