I can't imagine any scenario in which we get an at-large bid.

We lost to a Big 10 bottom dweller by double digits at a neutral site. We lost to an ACC bottom dwellar at a neutral site. And we lost to an SEC bottom dwellar on their home court. We will likely have zero NCAA tourney teams on our schedule.

We're not getting an at-large.
If we only have 3 losses on selection Sunday, I guarantee we get a bid

I agree that we doubtfully will get an at large bid. My comments were in regard to seeding. In other words, we have to win the tourney to get in, and unless there is a collapse, once we get in, I think we will get a decent seed, somewhere between 10-12

Ahh yeah. I mean it will definitely help with our seeding. I just hope we can be consistent enough this season to get a 12 or better if we get get the autobid.

I see what you did there.

Grin,, I think you have a very valid point there.

Remember the Eye Test. Always used against UAB in the past. This year if we finish strong the eye test might benefit us more than the RPI.

And since we are lost in the unseen CUSA, the last time a lot of the committee will have seen us was lat years tournament.

To your first paragraph, don't believe for a moment the committee doesn't place an emphasis on RPI. If RPI wins matter than your RPI has to matter as well. Particularly when it comes to at-large bids, RPI and the eye test comes into play. No matter how flawed the RPI may be, it is still an important factor the committee looks at.

To your last two paragraphs, if UAB is in the conversation for an at-large bid, our resume will be scrutinize and not go unnoticed or under the radar by the committee. UAB may past the eye test but will our resume and SOS past the mustard with the committee?

Our SOS will immediately cause laughter.

I agree.

I think the only shot we have at an at large (it's slim) is we run the table and lose in the championship game and have only 4 losses. A lot would have to happen and some upsets by some teams we have beat but like MB we have to win the conference tourney in all likelihood.

I agree 10-12 seed 13 if we have more than 6 or 7 losses. A slight chance at a 9 if we run the table win the tourney and are sitting there with there losses.
I'd rather have a 12 13 than 10 or 9 honestly. And what are the chances Haase gets another raise this year after he dominates cusa again?
I like the 12 spot too. Problem is it's usually your last at large teams so autos will get bumped to a 13 or an 11.

We better win regular season and secure at worst an NIT spot. Only one time in the history of C-USA has the regular season champ not gotten an invite one way or another as well.

We need butts in the seats. we need to do whatever we can to make sure we have good crowds from here on out and really push the tourney. We need 10-14K in legacy.
I know haase will leave us sooner or later, but I have to think if we offer him another solid raise, and with the team he's assembled coming back, that he wouldn't stay at least one more year. I take all that back if we make some crazy run in the tournament and/or a BIG TIME job comes calling. But if we just get into the tourney and lose, offer him a
Good raise, and have the whole team coming back - I can see
Him staying

I think he's really close to cashing in at a big time position, if he wants to leave us. Why leave after this season for a mediocre position when he could lead his guys on an historic run next season and get a big Time job?
Hasse is not leaving for any job from what I understand. We just need to stray competitive with the salary. When Kansas or UNC become available that's when we need to worry and then I'm ok with that.

That said if Ingram keeps pissing off our coaches that may change things. He is not liked and continues to piss in everyone's cereal. I think we need to make football successful quickly and give Ingram all the credit so someone will hire him away quickly.

I hope to God you are right about that. I have been hard on Haase, but he has built a great program. I've seen this team twice in the past week, and the improvement from the Auburn game is amazing. This team passes my eye test for sure. We LOOK like a very good, legit, NCAA tournament team. Even a lot of Anderson's and Davis's teams didn't really look the part, even though they made it in (I'm talking about height, length, depth of the team, our shooting ability, etc.). A lot of
Anderson's teams made it in on sheer will.

If we lose Haase to a program like that, I can't be mad. I would be frustrated if he left after this season for a mediocre program, when I think he's very close to getting considered for a truly big time position.
The key is Ingram IMHO. I hope he gets hired away ASAP

Yeah we can't afford to lose haase to a program like say an ole miss or Georgia Tech etc for example

That's a worst case scenario to me. If we run him off and he takes a mediocre position.

So in all seriousness, everybody indicated watts was gone at the end of the year. Why is he still around? And as long as he is around I don't see any way Ingram goes. I know one thing about Ingram is anybody who has dealt with him personally doesn't seem to care for him. I like a few things he's done, but for the most part I don't feel like he has been able to do anything but what he's told. I have nothing against the man, but I did say a while back he needs to go simply because he has such a poor relationship with our fan base, and there is basically no chance of improving it.
Yeah why is watts still here
And it would be incredibly frustrating to lose haase to a middle
Of the road sec program, or a program of that Ilk. The way this and next season are shaping up, he may have his pick of the litter
The board is encouraging him to stay on. We may have to apply some pressure. If anyone thinks the board is not ******* with us they need to think again. Everything has been a struggle from Clark's contract, to facilities, to scheduling, to these BS deadlines the board, (NOT UAB as Ingram spouts off) has placed on us. We need to stay vigilant and be ready when called upon.

We have won some major victories but the war is far from over. The good news is Clark is in for the long haul and he thinks he can make UAB the next Boise State very quickly.

We just need to outlast Watts and Ingram and push our own people for the President and AD. Watts and Ingram are not our people. They are owned by the Trustees.
