"My faith is very important to me... BUT DON'T QUIT GIVING THEM HELL!!" -Coach Clark
Was Mackin there?
I think the iMG sports rep was there in his place since he was handing out game balls at the hoops game today.

Not a problem Coach!
It was a nice event. I didn't stay for the musical act since I had to get back, but I'm glad to see it was a good turnout. It has been mentioned before, but the concept of family that was introduced by Coach Clark really set the cornerstone of the unity we see now. I've never seen Birmingham so united in my lifetime. It was a pleasure to see all of the speakers at the forefront of our efforts.

It was my first time going to Iron City, too. It's a very nice venue.
It was a reunion in a way. I saw folks there that had given up on UAB football in the past.

The movement is growing!

My eyes started to water a bit when they showed video clips of the season. We finally show togetherness and strength and a few little, little men didn't like it. Shine the light Blazers! Darkness will not win!
We had one helluva good time. Wonderful event.

THIS! This is what is key!!! Take us for granted, kick us, step on us... We unite and #wefight!
I'm hoping and praying that UAB and Birmingham come out of this stronger and more united than ever- with football (and all athletics), university support, etc.

03-lmfao I sincerely doubt it! I did see a guy that bore a strong resemblacne to Bentley there tonight, though. What a wonderful event, the place was packed to the gills! That was the very first time I'd set foot in "Iron City", the place is incredible, I am definitely going to be a regular there. Every guest speaker had something powerful to say, especially Gary Sanders & Justin Craft. This solidifies our resolve even more to set things right at UAB. Got my "FreeUAB" magnet that's going on our refrigerator and on my car on long road trips, and my "UAB Football - We'll Be Back" bumper sticker that graces the rear of my car right now. And that band that played after Coach Clark addressed the audience, "The Dozens" was outstanding!

Coach Clark, we shall continue to #GiveThemHell....
Fantastic turn out. The place was packed. Enthusiasm was sky high! As others have mentioned, I have never seen the the government and business leaders of the Birmingham area this united - hell, I have never seen them united on any other issue before. Tonight it was Gary Sanders who said "There are people who have made a bad miscalculation". He was absolutely right, and you could feel it in the reaction of the crowd. Frankly, during this event for the first time ever I felt in my very soul that WE WILL WIN!!!
I picked up some extra free UAB rubber bracelets. If you were unable to attend and you want one, PM me and provide your address.

You can count on it, Coach Clark!
Just got home from a great evening honoring Coach Clark. What a day for Blazer athletics, Basketball team looked great, optimism for football returning. I have to say it was tugging at my heart strings watching the highlights for last year, what a turn around for the team with proper coaching from a man that honestly cares. My family really enjoyed the event. Keep fighting!

Call the governor's office. They really enjoy getting our phone calls. Hope the blue sarcasm font came through from the iPad. [/color]
Event was fantastic. It really says a lot about Coach Clark that he's still willing to come to UAB events with the way the leadership of this University has screwed him & his team over.

I feel a lot better about football returning after tonight, but we still have a lot of work left to do. Good to hear the comments from Bell and Don Hire.
