I actually want everyone to sweep their OOC so the Sun Belt has a chance to have multiple entries into the dance. Can we start this up in, say, a month? We just got done with this Southern thing. Who am I kidding? It will never end. But by then I should be ready for all the net cutting, crying, can't win when it counts, huckster comments, and we can go from there.

For a few giggles, read the quotes above and see how many said one of the following

"We have a new team"

"We have a Young team"

It's nice not having to go hide when other sports seasons roll around.

A luxury of being a fan of the Cajuns.

Must be miserable for the fans of other one sport schools in the Fun Belt.

I have never ever heard a UF fan talk about basketball nor seen flags flying after a big win. I could not honestly name ONE star in college basketball. While I can and even the average person can name eleventy billion in football.

Real talk, this message board or most for that matter would not exist if it depended on basketball. So calm down with the insults. This is a football conference with one bid in the tourney, take a deep breathe and calm down with the insults.

I know until we get a new arena and the Belt becomes more than a one bid conference our program is not going to much for most Southern students, alumni or locals. The only sport I follow a little is baseball only because it is fun to compete in a sport where there is pretty much a level playing field, you don't need waterfalls in the locker room to get decent talent and we have no problem going head to head with the "big" schools.

This is supposed to be one of our best teams in recent years. That may not end up meaning much, but I would be surprised if we were terrible this season.

This does not represent the opinion of all Eagle fans though. I'm more of an NBA guy but I like to follow college basketball. I'm excited to see what Coach Byington can do with a talented roster this season. To get the ball rolling on a new arena, we need to re-engage the fanbase. To do that we need to start winning again. I'm also stoked to get to play State twice. Having that pressure in-state from a rival will help keep us sharp.
