Here is the official release from Tribe Athletics with quotes from Tony on these 2 outstanding new additions: http://www.tribeathletics.com/news/2016/...tball.aspx

Jihar seems to have a very similar build and skill set to Daniel Dixon and Luke reminds me a lot of a player that I remember watching destroy our Tribe 15 years ago in UNCW's John
Goldsberry.

Welcome Jihar and Luke and great John Tony and staff!!!
Let the annoyance begin. Clayton Hughes signed with UNCW.

I guess I'm not really that surprised once he went to Hargrave

Full video of Jihar Williams' Baltimore Friends team in final against Washington Post #5, Sidwell Friends, in their Quaker Tournament today. Sidwell Friends beat #3 Dematha in a scrimmage a week ago, and they totally dominated Jihar's team, which doesn't have much of a supporting cast. Brutal game to watch because of the non-officiating with hand checking, hard fouls and sloppy play. Williams (#24 in dark jersey) a non-factor in first half because of foul trouble and a technical. Some of his potential finally on display starting midway third quarter, but then the coach pulled starters midway through fourth quarter. Don't see Jihar getting much of an opportunity to develop fully until he gets here, where his length and skills should translate better. He'll have an adjustment period his first year here for sure.

Thanks for the video. I'm not too worried about Friends getting beat up by DC schools. I think what he does against peer schools in the MIAA will be much more indicative of Jihar's abilities.
Article/video on Luke Loewe's accident.

http://www.fdlreporter.com/story/life/20.../95010602/
Tony said at Tuesday's "Luncheon with Tony" at Anna's that Loewe is expected to fully recover, is limited to dribbling the ball on the court right now, but should play this season. He has spoken to him several times since the accident and noted that Lowe "is a tough young man".
Manny Chukwu is raw and obviously still growing into his body, but it appears he was already 6'8" when he was playing five years ago. This is a post grad year for him. so, he is not an unknown on the New England circuit. Older brother is 7'2" with a 7'8" wingspan. Digest that. Older brother, also, ironically played for Terry Tarpey's HS, Fairfield Prep. Interesting to note that Manny shoots right handed, but all his blocks are with his left hand, and he does have a left hand hook. He does list "student athlete" on his twitter account, and some Princeton/Davidson contact. He's following and being followed by David Schneider, so, who knows, if we are looking to get involved.

On the other hand, 6'5" G Tyreek Scott-Grayson. has a 6'9" wingspan, the quickness/foot speed to go with it, and would really add to our perimeter defense need, as well as, having the offensive skills to go with it. His younger sister was a member of the US National U16 team and plays at Paul VI in Fairfax.

Combo deal for both Chukwu and Scott-Grayson? That would add some of that "NYC toughness" some feel is lacking now that Tarpey is gone. Chukwu reminds me a little of Knight with his height and leaping ability. His older brother that you mentioned plays for Syracuse. The David Schneider connection is interesting - does he help recruit for the Tribe?

Stefanovic is still unsigned but he has a shortlist (Loyola IL, Northern Iowa, St. Josephs, Valparaiso, and Evansville).
So are we looking at these guys now because of the open Seacat scholarship?

We have Seacat's now open scholly and if Mike decides not to come back for his extra year next year and grad transfer somewhere else, that would be another open scholly.

According to New England Recruiting Report WM was present at their game just this Saturday though they didn't say who they were looking at. Could be these guys, could be 2018 4 star Cormac Ryan who was on the other team (though I think the ship has sailed on that one as the high majors are already offering him), or it could be some 2019 players, which feels like looking a little far down the road considering all the open scholarships to fill before then.
With Seacat transferring and Mike Schlotman graduating in May and going to work, Tony is suddenly awash in scholarships. There are lots of ways he can juggle these.

For sure he'll need a solid big man, if available, coming this year in August.

I can't say that David helps us recruit, but I did notice his younger brother Bryce has committed to Richmond for the class of 2017
The Suffield v. Milton game WM attended on Saturday was part of the Scholar Roundball Classic which had multiple teams playing over two days and attracted a lot of attention from top academic schools like Harvard, Stanford, Yale, MIT, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Davidson, William & Mary, Brown, Dartmouth, Cornell, Columbia, Army, BC, Holy Cross, Tufts, Michigan, Rochester, Brandeis, Colgate, BU, Northeastern, Middlebury, Colby, Trinity, Vassar & Conn Coll (as listed by the NERR twitter account). Like us Elon was there shopping for a 2017 big man and they offered Kimball Union's Duje Rada. The 6'9" 230lb forward quickly committed (Verbal Commits had no other offers listed for him).

Source? Haven't seen that news anywhere other than your post
Tony announced that at his recent luncheon at Anna's Brick Oven. Told everyone that Mike had gone for a summer intern interview and received a full-time job offer he could not turn down. Schlotman is graduating in May.
Well that will really help us balance out the classes. And congratulations Mike!
