Apple has several research and development centers in Israel. Seems like they may be supporting the left's favorite target for demonization.

Modeled after the crop circle the liberal CEO found at the site after taking acid and finding himself and his new inspiration.
In my industry you use a Mac if you don’t want to produce second rate work.
All I can say is I have never had a second of problem with any of the 8 products I have purchased from Apple. Quality, functionality and esthetics....all rolled together IMO. The battery finally gave out on my oldest clickwheel Ipod that my daughter gave me. I bought a replacement battery one Ebay and installed it myself for 10 bucks. Works like brand new again. If Apple is a Liberal company?...then it is a Liberal success. Leave it to Okie to troll us and make a poor attempt at bashing an American success story.

Stupid liberal. 03-lmfao

I hate Apple, the only product I have is an iPad 2 because my company bought it for me.

We are mainly a Windows/Linux shop here, but do have a number of Apple devices around. The employees here are overwhelmingly conservative (we are right next to an Air Force base and in SW Ohio, known to be very conservative) but they love their Apple products. The CEO has 4 iPads, his entire family uses iPhones, and he has a Mac Book.

He also comes into my office once a week bitching about Obama.

I think that Apple has plenty of "conservative" followers.

On a side note, Rush Limbaugh uses an iPhone.

A lot of country club conservatives and social climbers indeed use Apple. After all, it is nothing but a status symbol.

In all fairness Android is in the process of ruining themselves as well. 4.1 stopped supporting flash making most streaming sites unusable and now 4.4 takes away the ability to write to SD. Of course Apple has neither of these functions anyway and they can be fairly easily overcome by jailbreaking via Towelroot, but still.
So I am wondering when someone wants to address the problem. Apple is upset because their workforce is predominantly white and male.

This is suggesting that discrimination is the reason for this....instead of the actual reason.

Flash is the biggest security vulnerability on any platform out there, hence everyone is done with it. Adobe basically said they couldn't continue to update the mobile security of it as well, if I remember right. HTML5 takes care of Flash anyway.

The last site I actually used that had Flash on it was UC's athletic website, and they just updated to HTML5 and got rid of Flash. SOOOO much better.

As far as writing to the external SD goes, what you said isn't exactly true. It was a security change made by Google due to the malware finding its way onto Android phones. It protects your data so that if you download a piece of malware it can't steal all your photos, or contacts, or text messages, etc., and upload it to a remote server. It was a smart move.

Apple isn't just a technical company anymore. They are a design and marketing company more than anything.

At my age...all I want is something that works and is easy to operate. I am not concerned with the machinations of the technology you describe. Apple fits that bill. I gave my 80 year old Mom an IMac. She learned to use it in two days and loves it. She comments all the time that it never crashes like her previous Dell PC.

Apple isn't just a technical company anymore. They are a design and marketing company more than anything.

The article clearly talks about this being a Silicone Valley issue in the manufacturing and development area.

We are not talking about customers service, sales and technical support. Marketing and advertising is most likely contracted out.

They don't do any of the manufacturing... they contract that out to everyone in Asia.

They may engineer it, but the supply line is completely done off shore by other companies.

And, from what I've been told by friends in the industry, they actually do design most of their advertising campaigns (or at least did under Jobs) because they want full control over how everything is presented.

I’m guessing the demographical makeup of TBWA/Chiat/Day isn’t much different than Apple.

They indeed build apps and other application in Silicone Valley. The advertising agency they use is TBWA\\Media Arts Lab.

So what is your point? That Apple discriminates?
When it comes to buying products I don't buy it according to what political stance the company has. For the most part anyway and I still haven't not bought something because of it. I have and I've used Apple and I like its usefulness. I'm not like the gay-stapo that will try to boycott some company because it doesn't share its agenda.
How about Orange?

Not at all. I think their numbers are better than I would have expected, to be perfectly honest with you.

I just don't understand why you always get your panties in a wad about this stuff. Diversity is a good thing because it allows people to come up with alternative ideas based on their background. Sometimes that is the best way to find the solution to a problem... brainstorming with people from multiple backgrounds to create a great solution.

If I were a CEO of a very large corporation that sells to every background imaginable I'd be looking for diversity as well in order to make sure that I have input coming from as many of the customer backgrounds as possible. That way you can create and market products that is great for everyone, not just one area.

Try streaming a college basketball game. They are all in Flash. I'll take my chance with the Malware and my Armor for Android. An SD card is useless if you can't write to it. I have used Android for 5 years now and never gotten a virus.

Diversity is good when it isn't forced. Today, diversity simply means less white people. What's so sick about it is white people are the ones pushing it. They need to stop talking about it and allow things to occur naturally.

Making companies hire based on race is wrong and it is bad for the company.

Other than the Dell laptop my job provides, I haven't owned a PC in 5 years. Yeah, Mac probably makes a better one, but it isn't worth $2,000 for me. I'd rather pick a PC up on craigslist for $100, that way, it it crashes or fries, no big deal, I'll get another.
