I was looking to see if ESPN had updated their dossier on us and I found that we were no longer listed in the FCS independents bracket. We are now in the FBS independents bracket, listed (alphabetically) below Notre Dame. Probably not big news, but I think it will help a little with program visibility. I didn't think they would put us in with the FBS indies until next season, though. This is either a classification error or maybe, just maybe, ESPN likes us.

I noticed the other day in Yahoo's listing of teams, some teams have a link to a message board, but ODU doesn't. We should get that fixed.
That's a great football conference on its own! Let's form up the "FBS INDEPENDENCE CONFERENCE" or FIB to battle with the AAC, ACC, SEC and the rest.

anyone else annoyed that ESPN moved "having to sign into facebook account" in order to leave comments?! Now everybody knows my full name when I comment on stuff and that isn't cool. It actually really takes away from the "vibrant" discussions that used to happen on these boards...... btw, I could use some support...Im being outnumbered 2-1 right now on the ECU game:

I'm actually kind of into the accountability it brings to the people. The anonymity of message boards is cool but after doing the interweb for 20 years I'm over the nonsense it generates w/out accountability for your words. Or at least the sense of accountability.
Accountability is good, but now I will have to act my age.....

This had to happen. For example, the Redskin Name thread was just a trolling free for all. 5000+ posts of the useless kind. When your message board has a pause button, you know things have gotten out of control.
Well, I'm not sure if you've seen Facebook recently, but there's a bunch of useless drivel posted under people's real names as well...

The point was the massive quantity of posts on ESPN threads. Not only were there lots and lots, a lot of them were tinged with obscenities. There was no way a moderator could keep up. I've seen racist remarks on athletes slip through those Mods on a regular basis.
I will miss the anonymity though lol

Fox Sports do not have us listed as FBS. Most still have last year's standings.
I really hope this is no indicator as to how Fox Sports Network will compare to ESPN. If they can't get their online act together, how will they get their TV Network to fly right?
