In all fairness other folks were yapping too and I also wanted to pimp slap them as well.
We go to various events for my kids & I find it quite upsetting that parents will be yapping their trap while the children are trying to perform.

My oldest had a band concert for Christmas & one family in particular have made it a point over the last 3 years to let the kids roam the auditorium going from mom to grandmom & vice versa.

Let's just say I was not happy.
I took my son to a trombone concert at UAB and there was a toddler making all kinds of noise. I was thinking how pissed I'd be if I were the conductor and was surprised he didn't say anything. Turned out it was his kid
Ironically, the same deal here. It was his kids.

Its like they say the Preacher's Kids are usually the worst, or the most expressive.

Classy.

BS. There is nothing classless about wanting to pimp slap them for talking durring the presentation. Slapping them or screaming "Shut Up you brainless whores!" would have been classless
+1

The cheerleaders having their own chatfest was probably being held in protest of having to show up for duty on a Wednesday night. Telling them to shut up and listen should have been their cheerleader sponsor's job, not a booster's. But if Attalla, or anyone else in the room, had turned and told them "Excuse me, I have paid quite a bit of money through the years in order to be in this room today, and I feel as though I have earned the right to hear the coaches talk. If you feel the need to hold your own meeting, please do it outside."

Since (by my understanding) the cheerleaders are "scholarship athletes" with generally the same practice and performance demands of the other athletes, perhaps they might be introduced to the assembled fans early in the program (along with the attending "pep band" members) just as the new signees (who aren't there in person) are later. This might remind them to behave better and more respectfully as has been suggested without the physical "call out" some suggest.
Maybe we can have cheerleader recruiting threads
I second the motion for cheerleader recruiting threads.
We need more blondes & red heads.

Edit: I'm sorry. I got it mixed up with the golden girl recruiting thread.

I do as well, until my daughter is a UAB cheerleader in a few years. :)
I personally liked the masks the Golden Girls wore Saturday.
