Last day for spring signing of LOI is May 21.

Don't know whether we are saving spots for Clyburn, Albert and the mystery 7 foot transfer that Super referred to.

Usually there is an official announcement when we are done recruiting.

Not done! Not much left out there, probably looking at transfers at this point! Big fellas
NOT DONE FROM A GOOD SOURCE BUT WHATS LEFT? A LOT OF TRANSFERS STILL NOT SPOKEN FOR
See this thread on main EMU board:

On ESPN'S - GOODMAN'S TRANSFER LIST

MIKE SAMUEL FROM INDIANA ST

COULD BE OUR MYSTERY 7 FOOTER - 2 YRS ELIGIBILITY LEFT
APPARENTLY SAMUELS IS IN THE HOUSE.

WE GOT ONE 7 FOOTER BUT CAN HE PLAY? 2 YRS ELIGIBILITY, IMMEDIATELY ELIGIBLE I BELIEVE . TRANSFERRING FROM INDIANA STATE WHERE HE NEVER PLAYED BECAUSE OF 2 YRS OFF WITH A BROKEN FOOT I BELIEVE.

ARE WE LOOKING FOR MORE BIG FELLAS? A JHC PG WITH SOME EXPERIENCE? ANOTHER SHOOTER OR ARE WE DONE FOR 2014?
Dennis,
Are you saying that Samuels transferred or is visiting?
Either way, thanks for the update.

He is on the transfer list and will be coming - 2 yrs eligibility
ESPN is confirming that Samuels is coming to EMU.

This situation bears watching, not a given that MSU will allow Forbes to transfer:

Here are a few videos on the new Transfer Mike Samuel. I see many similarities to Riley with the height and defensive prowess. Obviously he is larger than Ajayi and Riley in the weight department. Listed at 6'11 290 on Indiana State's site. Tough to find video of him at Wabash Valley, but I will keep searching.

I'm sure this eases all of our minds here with this signing. But how much can we expect from a guy who hasn't played in 2-3 years ? 10 minutes/game will be a blessing, and anything beyond that an added bonus.

With that being said, I'm all in on this roster for next year. Length all over the place. It's just a matter of our bench coming to play.

... Glad to put and end to te speculation and the random names that have been thrown around. Is it football season yet ???

And Verbalcommits.com has the wrong Mike Samuels' Twitter and he is, I guess, a redshirt senior but most likely to EMU and the NCAA a redshirt junior. (he'll need to apply for a sixth year from the NCAA after the upcoming season is over).
Another player mentioned in this thread was Tyrone Acuff-Detroit King who now has signed with Barton Community College in Texas.

Ah, no surprise.

The only surprise is that folks post about Detroit H.S. players in late April and May.

What I mean, is that those players who have decent academics have been snapped up. Those up for grabs now are most likely have academic issues which is why they haven't signed if they have D-I abilities.

So when Dennis posts and asks about a half dozen Detroit PSL kids still available in May I simply 03-zzz .
I guess that means no more Clyburn posts right Steve?

Seriously those going from Detroit high schools to junior colleges are of interest since EMU seems to like junior colleges. ie Bonham , Albert.

Isn't Clyburn at Romulus? Isn't his academics an issue?

A high school kid sitting unsigned on Memorial Day is most likely an academic issue. No reason to hold out that long? Why wait and have someone else take your scholarship???

I dare say very few academically qualified h.s. D-I talents are still out there.

All of the 'action' now are transfers and others with academic issues (e.g., JUCOs who may or may not complete their degree next month).

Isn't that the story with Albert? When will he have his associates degree (required for non-qualifiers).

Isn't that how we lost Carnegie last year? He didn't complete his degree and couldn't qualify for D-I ball. I believe he went D-II.
Is today the day for a press release or perhaps early next week?

Can't imagine we are far away from a recruiting update

I think the 'trigger' is if there is a recruit in the 'pipeline' and as soon as they feel they can announce him they announce everyone.

If #12 is a transfer then whenever they feel they can. E.g., a kid might need summer courses to complete his bachelor's degree. E.g., thought I read that maybe Percy Gibson (Iowa State-Detroit Southeastern) might be a candidate to graduate from ISU in 3+ years. Considered an excellent student.

If #12 is a JUCO, maybe after completion of this semester and grades.

If #12 is a high school kid (e.g., Clyburn) then after spring semester grades OR a test result (whichever they are waiting on).

Then #13 would be announced if and when he signs this summer.
