I hope that isn't serious. You don't think CC's job is busy enough?

Personally, I don't care where we get our players from and how much eligibility they have coming in. For all his faults, Murphy has brought competitive basketball back to a school that hasn't had it in over a decade. I won't question his methods of recruiting, unless it's another James Still situation. I wish he could get more top michigan HS players but (as Steve said) bigger, more established programs have pipelines that run deeper than EMU. Being upset that a guy like Vince Hunter went to an AAC school over EMU is just silly.
A couple of players and no I don't know if EMU is involved, but would interested in who is, one is from Clarkston Mike Nicholson 6'8, highlights so far this season:

the other is 6'8 Delvin Conley from Litchfield AAU Team Detroit.
Owens Community is now 19-4 and ranked 13th in community college. Gill an EMU purported offer and 6'8 Toronto native is averaging 17 points, 14.6 rebounds and 3.2 blocks in conference. This is the same JUCO conference where Darrell Lampley played.

Good stuff.

Look at my favorite: Maten

He has offers/interest from coast to coast. Ugh!!
Yes and it shows offers for example from EMU for Carpenter, I haven't been able to explore the entire listing but what is nice is there are video clips for each player in their profile.
Jordan Nobles from Canton HS - our only signee during the early period

His team is currently 12-4 - a low scoring team

He is averaging 13.2 ppg and 7.4 boards along with blocking 2.4 shots per game

HIS fg PERCENTAGE HOWEVER IS BELOW 40% PER GAME, HE MISSES A LOT

I wouldn't say he is having a good year

Good Luck to Jordan
I want to know how many recruits will be there Saturday for the big, big game?

Dennis, have you driven 10 miles to watch Nobles play or are you reading, largely uninformative stats from the morning papers?

With Murphy its defense first, I would say Jordan fits nicely into what Murphy and his staff are trying to do.

Yep, 'diamond in the rough' type (that's better than calling him a 'project') who is long, stretch four-type, and yes, a Murphy recruit.

Next season, I expect to see most scoring from the SF, SG, and PG. Those guys will be able to put the ball in the hole.

who will rebound, set picks and block shots? we might be playing with 3 guards (Talley, Lee, Combs) and Ward and ???????? Bench?????
We play small as it is, save for DaShonte obviously. Not something I'm freaking out about. We'll miss Riley, Bryant, and Harrison, but we will have a good squad coming back.

My early guess for starters is Talley-Lee-Price-Ward-Ajayi. I'm sure Murph will get another JUCO big or grad transfer like Hughley.

Agree. A PF doesn't have to weigh 250 to play in Murphy's defense.
Next year's team will be a shooting/scoring team. Lot of better shooters. Much fewer blocks.

Gotta have a better offensive system in order to make that happen. Ball movement is bad right now.
Didn't get all 10, but Steve Bell's:

ps · 14h
Top 10 2014 unsigned 4 or 5s: Yante Maten, Dre Dentmond, Daryl Bigham, Michael Nicholson, Darohn Scott, Kenny Goins, Khadim Dieng ...

This might be a classic example why Murphy has to revert to transfers and JUCOs.

Maten, classic Murphy stretch four, has offers from coast-to-coast.

Dieng, as most here might remember, was declared ineligible by the MHSAA as being a 'recruited' athlete. I assume he was a pretty green big man prospect and without most of his senior year, he must be bound for a prep school.

The rest, I assume, are reaches for the MAC.

And as we all know, for April it is big man, big man, big man...
I may be wrong I believe Dieng was at Oak Hill Academy before he came to Grand Rapids.
