Love your thinking!!!
Others receiving votes:

Utah St., Boise St., Vandy.

So ya, NIU may take the cake.

Hilarious that Purdue over ND was one defensive stop away tho.

How many teams do you root for?

3, grew up as a State fan, living in the Ypsi area made me become a EMU fan, and have family in Dallas so I've grown to be an SMU fan. Anything wrong with that?

After the constant stream of "look-down-our-nose" attitude and mockery of the Detroit media market, B1G bandwagon fans, and so on over the years, I think we (MAC) are allowed to thump our chests a bit when that rare occasion presents itself. Even if half-TIC as this thread.
Ahh, well smack talk from both sides aggitate me, but it's a lil bit humorous when it comes from the MAC side most the time.

Utah State got screwed by the officials at the end of that Wisconsin game, too. USU completed a pass down to the Wisky 15 yard line late in the 4th, getting into FG range. On the next play the Aggies got called for a phantom offensive pass interference call that backed them up 15 yards, and they ultimately missed a long FG to lose.

Don't get me started on the Purdue v. ND game.

Here's an idea: maybe don't troll message boards if you don't like to hear smack talk.

Its been an incredible year for the MAC. The MAC was able to PUSH with the Big Ten from a post season perspective placing the same amount of schools in bowls and playing the same amount of Top 25 teams (3) in the post season.

B1G (7 Bowl Teams)
#6 Stanford
#7 Georgia
#10 South Carolina

MAC (7 Bowl Teams)
#12 Florida State
#22 Utah State
#24 San Jose State

ACC (6 Bowl Teams)
#8 LSU
#15 Northern Illinois

The difference between the MAC and B1G in football is a lot like the difference between the ACC and SEC once again. That is the way it was in the 60's when the ACC had gone almost a decade without finishing in the Top 25 in football.

Clemson then built up in the 70's early 80's and gave the ACC a national title contender. Florida State joined in 1991 and for a while the ACC was a peer on the recruiting trail while the SEC was in a down cycle. I don't think anybody would have anticipated the drop off over the last 10 years again in ACC football.
If I had to rank the best MAC years of all time this would be my Top 4.

2012: Record post season for the MAC including a BCS bowl and a record 8 wins against the BCS.

2003: Holy MAC Saturday where the league beat 5 ranked teams in one day and the first year of the popular mid week package.

1999: A big step forward for the MAC as Marshall finished ranked in the Top 10, the first school to break the top 20 since the 70's. The year before Marshall was 12-1 and unranked the entire season. The MACC of Marshall vs. Western Michigan was on ABC. It was an important turning point where the MAC began to shed the 1-AA tag.

2011: A very solid year for the league winning a record 4 bowl games with the league proving that it was back after a lull around 2006-2008 with poor bowl performances.

I don't think the MAC can top 2012 from a post season perspective but it might be a springboard year for more bowl tie-ins and a bigger TV deal to go along with the new playoff system. The MAC needed to have a big year like this and it happened at exactly the right time.

saying that the biggest win for a conference is the #15 team in the BCS rankings is not subjective, its objective. In other words, its not an opinion, its a fact.

stating a simple fact is not smack talk.

saying your blessed Big Tendozen is an over rated mess of a conference because of that fact is smack talk.
Yet in head to head games, the best MAC team lost to the 11th best Big Ten team? Did I get that right?

How can one even begin to think the MAC was better than the B10?
