Face it, 6 of the teams that the MAC will see in their games have zero appeal, simply foolish to pretend that "7 bowl games vs 7 bowl games" is equal, not even close..

Guys guys...take it easy on jons99...every game his team plays is irrelevant. I mean...his team just lost to Eastern Washington. 03-lmfao

Yes, in the quarterfinals... Still work to do, but heading in the right direction.

I still don't understand why you're on this board, except to make people hate ISU. The MAC is obviously not good enough for the likes of ISU, so why post here?

He does have a point and it is based off of one thing, Strength of Schedule,

Good for you, you've beaten a team that's had one winning season and no bowls in the last 21 years. I'll give you a participation medal for that...

If you guys are so great, how come the MAC, BE, C-USA, or Belt come running to Bloomington to get you on board? I know that I'd be gloating if my school was home to Laurent Robinson.

Actually, the common feeling here, mostly from the NIU faction, is that ISU isn't good enough for the MAC..
Illinois State Athletics
ZERO NCAA Mens basketball bids since 1997-1998
TWO NCAA I-AA playoff bids since 1999
ZERO conference championships in Mens basketball or football since 1999

A fan of a basketball school with a 15 year Dance drought is miserable enough, so everybody please go easy on Jonny.

Has ISU administration expressed interest in moving to FBS? Will they be upgrading the stadium to FBS level in the next few years? What is their game attendance like?

If they aren't ready to move up there's no point in discussing it.
No, please, everybody leave Jonny alone. He will never know the joys of watching his Redbirds in the NCAA Sweet 16 or play in a bowl game, let alone the Orange Bowl. Watching them play in the I-AA quarterfinals on ESPN3.com was the greatest moment of his life and he's still riding that cloud, so don't take that away from him, I beg you. Anything he says just nod and smile politely.

Their stadium renovation will be done by next season..

Their basketball would still be one of the top 2-3 programs in the MAC...

And as an Illini fan, who is currently ranked 10th in both polls, not to mention playing in the NCAA championship game not too many years ago, think I will be ok.. And even as crappy as their football program is, BCS bowl game totals are Illini 2 MAC 1.

Oh...you're an Illinois St. fan who also likes the Illini. That's so original. Guessing you wanted to go to U of I but couldn't get in?
Like I have said a few times, have degrees from both schools, so follow them both..

What do you call a person that can't get into UI or ISU? A Huskie

My favorite big-time school is Illinois, my dad, sister, and uncle went there, and I might've gone there to if I didn't choose Miami. I know what you're talking about, their basketball is good and their football has had a rich history (Dick Butkus, Red Grange, etc.)

Our argument is not "WOW THE MAC IS SOOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN THE BIG TEN OH MY GOD!" No, we're saying we're on the upswing, especially in football, where we're way up this year and the Big Ten is down. When you consider the vast differences in funding and fan support, we're far more efficient with the resources we have.

Will anyone in the Big Ten ever say, "Jeez, I think we need to bolt this place, the MAC is the place to be"? No, but in time we'll sap away at its influence throughout college athletics. Keep in mind, while money is the real goal for the higher-ups, but the MAC has led the FBS in grad rates for years. That's the true objective for college athletics.
I'm still waiting for this troll to correct my original post and tell me what the biggest win for the B1G was this year.

waiting...

I don't know any NIU grad who wished he/she had gone to ISU. Don't know that that animal exists, and for good reason.

I'd have to say Boise St loss to MSU, was a pretty big game at the start of the year and both teams were ranked in top 20.
*nods, smiles politely*
Jonny couldn't stand how bad ISU sucks, with its 15 year NCAA drought and mediocre D2 football, so he went to UIUC to spend $100k on a masters in whatever program would take him (15th Century Portugese poetry) just so he'd finally have a team worth watching. And now that he got it, the Illini can't seem to make the NCAA either and are stuck in the B10 football basement. Very sad guys, just leave him alone. I'm being serious.

LOL @ Michigan State vs. Boise. I remember that game and I tried watching it. Total snoozer. As bad as both teams sucked in it, Boise ended up sucking a little worse in the end. Thank god for the RB from MSU.
