The only hope right now is a Bridgewater fumble with his bad left hand.

Go swallow a bottle of sleeping pills.
I know I've been saying there is no chance NIU makes a BCS bowl game, but if these scores hold up, it's not impossible. Still highly unlikely, but not impossible.

hahah that is probably a great suggestion, but Brad dont you see this as an absolutely instrumental game to any MAC hope of an Orange Bowl. If UConn wins, I put Kent up to a 60/40 shot with a MACC win and NIU at a 30/70 chance with a MACC win.
Side note but those Ohio State alternate helmets are among the best I've ever seen. Really sharp.
Good God, Ohio State has had soooo many chances in the red zone to put this game away and they just can't do it. 03-banghead
Man, come on Ohio State. 3 Goal to Go situations this half and 6 points.
If we are going to make low probability statements suggesting a MAC team is going to a BCS bowl, can you back it up with facts and a road map that need to happen for it to occur?

Yes, everyone ahead of us needs to lose.

I havent gotten that far but I just get this feeling if both these Big east teams go down, even the winner of Rutgers/Louisville couldnt get past NIU or Kent, that seems huge to me. You would essentially meet the finishing better than a BCS conference criteria. I havent looked at if getting to 16 is possible, but I have to think its not impossible especially for Kent State given all the higher teams that have lost.

We have to finish 16th and ahead of a conference champ. If Rutgers and Louisville both lose, we'll finish ahead of the Big East champ.

This was 16-25 of the BCS standings:

Texas
UCLA
Rutgers
Michigan
Louisville
OK State
Boise State
Kent
Arizona
Washington State

Texas, Arizona, and Washington already lost. If we beat Kent, obviously we jump them. If Rutgers, Lousville, and Michigan scores hold up, that's 3 more teams. Ok State plays Oklahoma tonight. UCLA still has to play in the PAC 12 title game.

Oregon State is 15th and they play Oregon tonight and Nebraska plays Wisconsin next week. Not sure if them losing either of those games will push them below us, but again it's not impossible.
As Brad put it, here are the BCS standings

root for everyone on them to lose.
This could end up being one of the biggest days in NIU football history, and we're not even playing. 03-lmfao

If all this continues to go as we hope it, it could really all come down to Boise vs. Nevada next Saturday. We could move all the way up to 18/19. I don't think that's crazy talk. Beating Kent moves us up one. A Nebraska loss to Wisonsin would also be huge. But, we can't have Boise finish in front of us. I don't exactly know what would happen if Boise was 15 and we would be 16, if they automatically take Boise or not. A lot still needs to happen tonight as well. But I like the momentum right now...
Oregon leads Oregon State 7-0 in the 1st.

Ok, so it would be the higher ranked team... So we need them to lose. With a pounding over Kent State, there's a long shot we jump them in the polls, but that's not very likely.

No more than one such team from Conference USA, the Mid-American Conference, the Mountain West Conference, the Sun Belt Conference, and the Western Athletic Conference shall earn an automatic berth in any year. (Note: a second team may be eligible for at-large eligibility as noted below.) If two or more teams from those conferences satisfy the provisions for an automatic berth, then the team with the highest finish in the final BCS Standings will receive the automatic berth, and the remaining team or teams will be considered for at-large selection if it meets the criteria.

NIU better pass Boise in the BCS with a MACC win, or thats just a crime
Michigan loses.
