For those who say there isn't a GAY agenda, at least one gay activist militant group is starting a campaign to get the producers of Sesame Street to throw a gay wedding for Burt & Ernie.

This is wrong on so many levels.
First these are fictional characters and no mention of any sexual orientation has been made. The Gay community and their agenda forced their own values on these fictional characters, surely two men who are roommates must be gay.
Next the target audience for Sesame Street is something like 3 to 7 year old kids this age should not even be forced to consider sexual identity. It seems as though the GAY agenda is okay with stealing the innocence of childhood entertainment with a SINISTER agenda.
The decision to teach about sexual identity should be left to parents at least till children are in middle school.

By the logic that makes Burt and Ernie GAY the following inferences could be made about other children's shows:

Into Bestiality
Shaggy, after all when Fred says let's split up Shaggy always makes sure he's with Scooby
Elmer Fudd, how many times have we seen him kiss Bugs Bunny

Pedophile
Barney after all he's an adult that only hangs out with children for fun

Polygamist
Fred he always makes sure Velma and Daphne are with him, at a minimum he's a swinger
Oh please. It was a Christian group that called Tinky-Winky gay. And SpongeBob. And started with Burt and Ernie. So stow ur foot in your mouth please.
So you stance on shoving the gay agenda down the throats of 3 year olds would be?

Wrong. You lose.*

Plus weren't those comments directed toward parents? (Just think of those hard working mothers CRH!) Not the kids themselves?

I'll answer the question, yes they were. But CRH is so approbative everything has to be about what he wants.

*Happens a lot. Funny how your best points are always fiction.
Am I the only one that thinks its OK to explain homosexuality to children?

I'm sure there are others who exist. People have been trying to harm kids for centuries.

And you are one. I pray to God you don't work near kids, cuz I'm sure you've harmed practically everyone you are around.

Oh, and I am right. Thanks, have a good night!

It's no different than shoving your Christian agenda down a 3 year olds throat. 03-wink

(See, that works on any group.)

I'm agnostic.

I don't watch Sesame Street so I could be wrong but I don't think they push Jesus.

Still don't know your position on pushing a gay agenda on an unsuspecting, captive, innocent audience.

Actually, "Reverand" Jerry Falwell attacked Tinky-Winky and SpongeBob for supposedly being Gay. If you need any links, please let me know and I'll get 'em to you.

There apparently IS a tounge and cheek movement to have Bert and Ernie get married. Apparently, some Gays think that Bert and Ernie are Gay. Well if you presume that the characters are adults, then they might give the impression of being a typical bickering couple. Since they are both male..... Well you get the idea.

I think this is a tempest in a teacup.

It's no different than shoving your Christian agenda down a 3 year olds throat.

Actually there is a huge difference. You'd have to be a moron not to see it.

Oh, sorry 'bout that.
Torchy, you are obsessed with me! Much like RWT is obsessed with you....

And you actually used queer theory? LOL I at least researched and got the earliest article I could find.

Too bad you never seem to be able to admit defeat, you Semantics Whore. You hide behind words then get twisted when called out, and corrected.... just like with teachers, gay rights, human rights, well, anything. You never really come out and say a damn thing. Faceless Scum.

Bert and Ernie.... I was wrong, everyone has known them to be gay. It's NYC. Gay marriage is legal. Get over it.

How so? Worshipping something people don't believe exists. Or showing them that love is for everyone?

Wait, you are a warmonger and a hateful person! That makes sense!

If you aren't religious, then what is your rationale for opposing Gay characters being around children. Its not like their relationship is sexual or anything.

Seriously, Gay people exist. And they're not going back into the closet. Simply acknowleging reality might be useful.

If you're upset about Gays being presented as valuable members of our society in childrens programming, would you be upset if Jews or Muslims or Christians or Mexicans are presented as valuable members of our society to the same age group? Being a member of a religion IS a choice (being Gay might or might not be a choice). I think we all have an interest in teaching tolerance of others so that we can have a modicum of peace in this country we will ALL continue to share.

I don't think that children are a 'captive audience' over at PBS. When I think 'captive audience' I think back to the fundamentalist teachers and football coaches using the schools as a vehicle to sell fundamentalism during practices and school times when I was a child.

And the government implicitly funds lots of Christian childrens programming through all those 'religious broadcasters licenses' that come at a small fraction of a commercial license. And those sites do use programming to push an agenda at our kids.

Which was about 2 years too late. You lose.

Really? You certainly get riled up at someone who never says anything.

Internet tough guy. Bet you go all butch in the bars too.
I don't have to be butch in bars. I'm just me. haha.

Dr.T, and I just read the article, so I apologize to you, for my incorrectness. But read the end of the article. Bert and Ernie=NC baptist minister's pet project.

So, we are both right. (see, I can admit it, why can't you? Oh wait, you must have a Napoleon complex.) And You can't include EVERYONE in a comment directed at YOU when YOU obviously DO understand. Stop acting like RobN.

And I get riled up because you are total boob. Which is why I just blocked you. :) All better.

Good grief. The "Gays are pedophiles" cabal again. Openly Gay people are no more likely than straight people to molest children. And explaining to children that 'Uncle Joe' has a husband isn't going to make anyone Gay.

Seems to me that most of the people molesting children worked for organizations that oppose Gay rights and think that Gays should pray the Gay away, or stay celibate. But I don't have a problem with children being around Orthodox Catholics.
