NIU vs Toledo:

Quote:Barrington senior Chase Murdock wrapped up his high school playing days Saturday with a 27-21 loss to Glenbard North. But the running back, who has offers from Northern Illinois, Toledo and Wyoming, is still very much alive in the recruiting game.

"I'm still in touch with several schools," Murdock said. "NIU is still recruiting me the hardest, and they still send me a ton of mail and I talk to them each week. I also still talk with Wyoming and Iowa. Toledo was in school last Tuesday and they offered me a scholarship."
I think Murdock is also looking at smaller schools with more academic prestige. With Miami offering Callen, I think we lose him to the Redhawks. Can't have a Hinsdale kid go to NIU.
toledo is 2nd class to niu
What a commercial for recruiting last nights game was. If you are a potential recruit particularly on the offensive side how can you not be interested? Was a national game and with no NBA was the only game in town.
I especially liked how the announcers kept mentioning all the FL players on the NIU roster.

That's a good thing to hear if you are a South Florida speedster and concerned about going somewhere so far north. Built in support group.

NIU LOVES itself some Florida speed.
Lemont linebacker Kyle Krull, 6-1 and 215 pounds.

Quote:Northern Illinois and Western Illinois have expressed interest. He admits Penn State is his favorite school and linebacker Sean Lee is his favorite player...

But his father was a linebacker at NIU. "I would like to follow in his footsteps. I always wanted to be better than my dad. And he was a big workout freak, too."

Looks to be walk on material.
I wonder why NIU never attempted to recruit my guy JJ... I went to high school with him and this is his senior year at Lincoln-Way East, he's a MONSTER... I mean, he committed to U of I, but when I was talking to him, it was like he never heard of NIU... I honestly think we could've got him. I mean yeah, if NIU would've attempted to red shirt him, he would've just transfered to U of I or Ohio State (which i dont know why he didnt choose them over U of I)... He wanted to go to the school where he could come in and instantly become the star, he would've definitely done that at NIU.

looks like they want a physical TE. We seem to be having tough time landing the type they want.
Ryan Callen to Miami (Ohio).
Toneo Gulley to Navy.

Thanks for all of the updates, much appreciated.

Would you mind listing the recruit's position next time? I try to follow closely, but I usually have to look up the recruit to see what we missed out on.

Thanks again for all your work.

Go Huskies!
Ruben Ibarra (6'3" 220 LB) from St. Pat's in Chicago is in Juco in California. Supposedly has interest from several D1's including Ohio State and Indiana. Wonder if he is Saul Ibarra's brother(former Huskie)? Doesn't having us listed as showing interest, so far.

HnP Callen is a guard and Gulley is a RB
In the future, I will be happy to list the positions of each player.

Huskies have a committment from CHurch but Gulley would have been a nice change of pace back. Low to the ground and hard to tackle. he should do well in Navy's scheme. Good get for the Navy when they pick up the #3 rivals rated player in a decent sized state.
Anyone see Cole Gardner (6'6" 240) from Batavia play this year. According to Edgytim we are looking at him. Could probably play multiple positions.
