I would rather the MAC not send any team less then 7 - 5, maybe 8 wins (there could be a lot of 8 win MAC teams).

Purdue loses (barely) to MSU, and IU is losing to Penn State. That's two more teams that won't get to bowl eligibility. Virginia lost to BC (after outplaying them) 17-13 to fall to 4-7 so they are out as well.

i disagree...i would love to see a 6-6 WMU team in a bowl...i think they are dangerous and would represent us well

WMU fans should start becoming Duke fans right now....a good chance to put in jeopardy another BCS school....if GTech loses to Duke today, they probebly will not get by Georgia next week and will be sitting out the bowl season

Troy got hammered today to fall to 5-5.....will the Sunbelt have more than 1 or 2 bowl eligible teams when all is "said and done"?

North Texas is winning early against ULM.....That would be GREAT if NT can knock ULM out of the bowl picture

UVA was already eliminated from bowl contention before this game, 2 of their wins were against FCS teams, you can only count one of them toward bowl eligibility. Could have used the Cavaliers knocking off BC, who has now become bowl eligible.

If Marshall (4-6) beats SMU (5-5) today both of these teams could end up bowl eligible. SMU was leading early but it's a close game.

Maybe. Word is if there's not enough eligible teams to fill all the bowl slots, the first thing they'll do is give a waiver to teams with 2 FCS wins if they're 6-6. Arizona State could fall in that category too.

I'm glad at least one person sees this. I'm torn, thinking that a 6-6 team going to a bowl is a reward for mediocrity. WMU is perhaps the most dangerous mediocre team in this league. Despite being decimated by injuries, they are holding up their end of the deal so far today.

In principle, I'm against any 6-6 team going to a bowl but I would watch (not go) if my team somehow got in by winning out to go 6-6.

The difference between a 6-6 MAC team vs a 6-6 BCS team is that most BCS teams play all their OOC games at home, leaving themselves needing only 2 or 3 wins in their league to get to bowl eligibility. A MAC team often plays at least 2 of those OOC games on the road - (@MSU, @ Notre Dame for WMU this year). If WMU gets to 6-6, they will end up 5-3 in MAC play, not under .500 in league play like a BCS team.

Some strange doin's in C-USA as a pretty good ECU team (6-4) is losing badly to 2-8 Rice 55-31 early in the 4th qtr. SMU is now up 21-zip on the Herdlers, & UCF up 14-zip on Tulane ((4-6).

Fine and good, but that should not jeopardize any MAC school with 6+ wins with only 1 win coming against FCS schools.

I heard a pitch being made for Wisc for at large spot....11-1 ability to sell tickets and travel..

Louisville lost to WVU to fall to 5-6, but has a beatable Rutgers left on their schedule. G-Tech now up on Duke, 23-13. Ark State (4-6) down 14-zip to Navy.

Colorado (4-6) coming on strong and beating K-State today so far, but they have to play Nebraska next. La-Monroe now on the board and down 13-7 to N. Texas State. If L-Monroe wins today, they will likely be bowl eligible 'cause their last game is against La-Lafayette (2-8).

SMU blowing out Marshall so far...24-zip at half. Not looking good for the Herd to become bowl eligible.

If they get to 6 they were as close to one could be to have gotten 8 @CMU and NIU was a mess to lose. They deserve it.

Yep, I checked the official list of mediocre teams in the MAC, and you are correct.
