Why all the pissing between NIU and UB? Aren't we all trying to accomplish the same things? Successful graduates and winning athletics?

In fact, of Buffalo, Marshall, UCF and Temple as recent MAC additions, UB is the only one I wanted to hitch my fan and support wagon to.

Now if the Bills would just leave, it would make us UB fans who aren't Bills fans happy.

The San Antonio Bills? At least people may start consistently calling the Buffalo Bulls the Bulls instead of the Bills ...

I think it is a safe bet that this is the only thread in all of the internets debating whether NIU or UB is a better BCS candidate. When has a school ever gone from the MAC to a BCS conference?

Left the conference because of football. Oh, the irony.

They also had several stops in between. The comments here are about who is BCS ready. Actually, the team with the best shot at doing this is Temple if the Big East implodes (assuming they retain BCS status).

The Big East will maintain its BCS status for *at least* another couple of years (even if it implodes and the fill it with football only scrubs) because they are contractually bound as an AQ conference regardless of performance..

But aren't those contracts based on the conferences as they now exist? Sort of like the ESPN contracts that can be renegotiated if a conference changes substantially. If the Big East loses all of their big horses and essentially becomes C-USA caliber I could see that change.

I think the contracts are rigid. The whole reason for the 4-year periods was in case of a change. The Big East would maintain its status through this evaluation period.

Yeah, apparently there's a conclave of Akron fans huddled in a cabin somewhere.

Interesting map, but hard to follow. There are well over 120 colors, so they could have used more distinctive coloring to make their point. Also would have been nice to use colors close to a team's trademark. Why make BYU orange, and Utah yellow?

Well Because when you have Ohio and Miami Ohio next to each other you have red and red... Or MSU next to EMU 03-wink

I was wondering why Eastern Michigan was in Montana.
SMU in North Dakota
EMU in Montana
Akron in Maine
Tulane in upstate New york
Miami Oh in East PA
Hawaii in California
Northwestern in Iowa

and that's just the ones I noticed.
Temple has a lot of fans in the Branson, MO area.
actually... WACO texas.... temple football is huge

In a few years when Ralph Wilson passes on they may become the Toronto Bills.

Depending on how many teams the B10 adds there could be major shifts in BCS conference alignments, NIU would make a good football only addition for a conference wanting to keep 12 members and continue having a title game.

If the BE implodes they likely will no longer exist as a football conference. The B12 however can sustain the loss of 4-5 teams and still keep it's AQ status.
