j/k bud.
No legitimate great moments threads in here! 04-chairshot

You have to have a winning season, (That counts) before you can even SNIFF a great moment. Oh wait I can think of one...

Most consecutive amount of time on ESPN's Bottom 10?

I know that when the Troy fan made these threads he was being facetious, but WOW, that reading comprehension class at fau should really be improved. I could explain the differences between a MOMENT and an entire season, but I won't. I can think of several great MOMENTS in FIU history:

1. Football Opening Day Victory vs. St. Peters.
2. Basketball team defeating Michigan in front of a Sell Out crowd at FIU Arena.
3. Baseball team beating Notre Dame to advance to the Super Regionals.
4. Soccer team beating Indiana to advance to the NCAA Championship.

By the way, shouldn't you all be doing some sort of fund raiser, I don't know a bake sale, auction, car wash, something so that you can stop your coaches from continually lying to their recruits about that on-campus stadium that they're always promising?

This is should help this thread out some. Actually though I have alot of respect for FIU and their fans. I had the chance to talk with some students from FIU after the game in Troy this year and they were nothing but a class act.

I'll be honest, FAU will not be ahead of FIU for very long. In fact, I see the tides turning this year and FIU will never look back.

Ill take those statics WELL ahead of "Impact" players. What impact have they made besides singing thier LOI? and even then they had to have tutors to do it.

I get your point, but here's the thing: Those IMPACT players are from this years class. Of course they wouldn't have had any impact on them going to a bowl. It's just to suggest that the tides are indeed turning. You were extremely lucky they picked you guys to even be in a bowl game last year.

I believe those impact players will make a huge difference and begin to create a gap between FIU and FAU where FIU is on top and the gap should continue to increase over the next few years. If I had to pick a winner for next years game, FIU would have my money.
You can hide behind your bowl games for so long... you are looking at the past, and that's the difference between FIU and FAU: we are looking at our future and building it up rather quickly, while FAU points at its past to prove how 'superior' they are to us. Why? Because they KNOW we are about to pass them. Because they SAW how close we came to taking them out. Three minutes separated us from them. This is it for them. It's over. We finally found our footing as a program, and now we are taking huge leaps. Just looking at the recruiting classes it is COMMON SENSE that the tide is turning... it's like a storm is developing outside your house but you ignore it, and dismiss it because you remember how beautiful yesterday was and think that justifies not preparing for the storm. Well we all know what happens when you don't bolt up your windows when the storm comes...
This is going to be one heck of an interesting 2009 season! FAU and FIU fans wanting to prove who's the best between the two now that FIU has risen from the ashes and MTSU and Troy is getting rather bitter because Tony Franklin is now at MTSU.

CAN'T WAIT TIL KICKOFF!!!
FIU has a stadium, FAU has a field and some bleachers.

FIU had a great recruiting class, FAU had some guys sign a piece of paper.

FIU has a young head coach who wants to be here, FAU has a guy who does not have much longer.

FIU is gonna kick your butts this year, and there is nothing else to it.

And the year after only gets better, when Wes Carroll (AKA 2007 SEC Freshman of the year) goes behind center to start playing for FIU. Not forgetting to mention the dudes he will be chucking the ball too.

FAU had a good run, now you will have to settle for second best.

Suck on that for a while.

Dwell on the past, what we are talking about is what we have proven with our "low" recruiting year in and year out. EVERY YEAR FIU out recruits us according to rivals and there stupid system, EVERY YEAR!
But what HS finds is hidden talent that takes us too the next level. And yes, we wont see the talent of this recruiting class for a year - or two, and then we will see, but for now you can not dwell on the future because YOU DON'T KNOW! You could of had a fluke season and go back to loosing, you could beat us, you could win the title, your whole program could get dismantled because of budget cuts, you don't know! But what we do know, is we have a championship and back to back bowl wins, and that's a fact! So yes, you have to go by the past, because that is the only that thing is written, until next season, when we write a new chapter!
very impressive video FIU Panther Fan. I assume that is an official University product?
Yes it is, it was the intro video during the football season. Change the helmet to the current opponent.

True, but only by one or two guys at most. In the past, the difference was only marginal. The last two years, they have recruited significantly better than you guys, and I think that will show up on the field over the next couple of years.
