Morris and Bryant aren't starters.

I know, but i think both Novak and the players gave up.

Novak just said he doesn't know why they didn't play and weren't ready.

I cant believe, even when we are healthy next year, we will be picked anywhere but last in the west by those in the know...how did wolfe gain so much....makes it even more miraculous when you look the guys he left behind

houston i would not worry, there is no correlation to what we see out there right now to what we will see in 08. For one thing it will basically be a whole new team on the field. It is disappointing we did not see a better effort tonight with the remaining players though.

You know madd I always liked your optimism but I am really starting to wonder how much denial you are really in. I don't care how many injuries a team has there is zero and I mean zero justification to give up 70 points to a Toledo team. I am really starting to wonder is this is a worse situation than the 90's. Back then when a Kansas State put up 50 or 60 or 70 against us I could understand, but not this. This situation says a hell of a lot about the coaching staff and the recruiting. The performance of this team is starting to do major damage to this program.

Not when you have sustained 40 injuries, hard to evaulate the coaching job.

Might be difficult to evalute the coaching job, but its certainly not hard to evaluate the recruiting job especially with the state of t his Toledo team and what they did to us.
MaddDawgz02 Wrote:
armour248 Wrote:the coaches recruited and trained the players...a lot of injuries aren't preventable...some of them are...some of them are due to either lack of or too much hitting in practice. either way, someone is responsible for our program being where it is...it's not just injuries.

You can blame the Iowa loss on the coaches and players but the 7 losses after that is 90% due to injury.

Madd, you are delusional and in denial. I can't believe you really believe what you are posting...

He doesn't know why? Look in the mirror, Joe. That's why.

What. An. Absolute. Joke. We've. Become.

I dont know rabid, it is just nearly impossible to evaulate coaches when you do not have your team on the field. That would be like evaulating a high school varsity coach based on the performance of the Junior varsity team, just is not a fair thing. Given the situation, I think NIU could possible FLIP this year's record around next year. I could see them going 10-2 next year.

Now with this post I really believe you are certifiable. 10 - 2, definitely certifiable.

So we are going to go undefeated in the MAC(assuming losses to Alabama and Tennessee)? MD02, I too like your optimism but there is no way we are going to run the table in the MAC.
Joe sucks.

There is no reason NIU cant win one of the 2 games vs Alabama and Tennessee (is TN definitely on the schedule, I thought it got pushed back more). It is a COMPLETELY different team next year because of the injury situation.
you are so dilusional MD I am now certain it must be chemical....it is impolite to bring and not share.

There is no way, this program is now officially in a 90's mode. There is pretty much zero talent outside of a few on this team.

What a completely idiotic statement, a program is in the 90's mode in what amounts to 3/4th of a year of play when there have been an unprecedented amount of injuries?? That is crazy. The 90s where a sustained period of poor play, this is a case of a good football team getting beaten down by injuries resulting in 3/4ths of a year of bad play. I cannot wait until next year to bring this back in your face.

I wouldn't say 0 talent.
That is a bit harsh. There is a lot of injured talent this year. 10 - 2? Well not that sort of talent, but zero talent is still wayyyyyyy to far on the other end.

Bring it on Madd. Your right this is not the 90's mode, it is worse. We had hope in the 90's, a new plan. We don't here. This program has been getting bad for a few years now, a blind man could see it. It especially became apparent with the Ohio game last year and was solidified with the TCU game. Guaranteed sub-500 next year if there is not a major change in this program. I can only hope JP does some magic because short of magic be prepared for a repeat next year.
