Who knows...maybe the judge even operated as the kid's agent, giving UT the edge in offering the winning "bid." ;-)

Interesting. I hadn't even considered that UT paid the most straight cash to get the kid. Did Joan Edwards change loyalties? 04-jawdrop

Pretty soon, we'll become that benchmark and nobody will be talking about Joan Edwards. ;-)

Ceteris parabis, I can see why you feel that way. However, you are missing a critical point there.

That would be extremely sad if our justice system operated in that manner in the kid's case. Is it true that the presiding judge that decided Williams' fate and gave him another chance is a graduate of the UT law school? No, Judge Saffold is a graduate of the Marshall school of Law.

That's Marshall College of Law @ Cleveland State(Not to be confused with
Marshall University). Her undergrad is from Central State and she's originally from North Jersey.

As for saying that Miami is going to be better than Toledo this fall.......it's possible, but I really doubt it. Toledo will be the 3rd best team on NIU's schedule this fall and NIU will probably be the 2nd or 3rd best team on UT's schedule.

The games are played on the field, not on a message board! NO ONE , I mean NO ONE last year anticipated the WEST winner w/ -2- losses and most "experts" had Toledo winibhg the west. It is VERY POSSIBLE you will be the 6th toughest team on our schedule. OSU,Iowa, are obvious...... but I feel OHIO U ,MU, will be tougher and either BSU or WMU could pass Toledo this year.

The MAC WEST goes thru Dekalb!

But BGSU was picked to win the whole enchilada. What you aren't counting on is UT being improved, which they are on defemse and the offensive line. The running game will be improved also.
You NIU fans crack me up. You say there is no way UT is beating NIU in Dekalb this year and then to argue that other schools could be passing UT up you say that you don't know what is going to happen until the teams play and that is why we play the games on the field.

So, you are contradicting yourselves and proving to the point that there definitely is a way that UT could beat NIU in Dekalb this year.

Don't tell us we can't beat NIU and then say we could get passed by WMU and CMU because we never know what will happen until the games are played. If that's the case, then we don't know that NIU is going to beat Toledo.

BTW, if you guys really want to act like Toledo is your rival.......I'd be glad to consider you guys a secondary-secondary rival (that means third in line boyz).

... I agree w/ you Rocket it is 'possible"you could beat us ..yeah...possible...... but you fellas continue to talk like you are the champs.... YOU ARE NOT... YOU ARE NOT THE CHAMPS.......Right now,,,, Right NOW we have the upper hand... We pinned you on your own turf last fall (yes we did win, convincingly) and feel we will have a much better team this year than last year. Our D is really improved off last years effort. Our QB situation is much stronger and stable than last fall and have an experienced pre season ALL AMERICAN at tailback.

As for rivals...we don't need Toledo or anyone else ,you can have all the fun and games you want with the orange pumpkins ... We don't care what you to do with them.... If you want to win the WEST you have to beat the HUSKIES! It is YOUR biggest game on the schedule.

THE MAC WEST goes thru DeKalb! .....
Last season's game in the Glassbowl was to avenge that darn '3rd down and 33' turnaround play back in 2003; the game we lost. Now JoeN has to avenge the nasty collapse of the NIU defense when we lost the game in DeKalb in 2004. Both games we should've won. But that's history and that is something that JoeN is not likely to repeat.

Having seen the needed changes in the D, especially after that crappy last minute of last years 2005 MACC game, the loops are tightened and it should be a steady execution on the field. I agree that NIU could arguably be Toledo's toughest opponent this year and it certainly is the game that could keep Toledo from winning any sort of real glory in 2006. That's why DeKalb is throwing the event like it is because it'll be a closely monitored game on national TV.

Wear all of the red and black that you can that night, bring your signs, and even a couple of dog biscuits for the Rocket sideline.

Realistically by the time the Huskies get to play UT, theHuskies will probably be 5-4 with 2 MAC losses, possibly 3.The schedules actually favor Toledo.Look at the home and road games. The MAC West could very well be decided before the NIU/UT match-up.At 7-5 last year and no bowlgame NIU didn't have one of their better years in 2005.The MAC was weak last year as demonstrated by the number of BCS wins by the MAC teams.

You are no fun, HF. How is a guy to feed Robert's imagination when you post stuff like that. 03-hissyfit
Let those Toledo fans think what they want. They talk about having the best defense in the MAC, when they played a cupcake OOC schedule, that gave up 35 points to NIU. That so called great defense also allowed NIU to convert over half of our 3rd downs (8 for 15).
Geez you would think that Toledo fans would have more to crow about than their wins over NIU. Remember rockets go high but eventually come down to earth.

Ok, you want fun. I was at Woodfield mall today having lunch and I saw the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile pull up so I decided to check it out. After taking a tour of the famous mobilemark, I asked the driver if he could bring it to the NIU largest tailgate party in November for the UT bash (literally the turf smear). He came in from Wisco (license plate reads YUMMY) so he said that it may be a little difficult for him to make the game. I told him that he wouldn't be disappointed and would probably sell out of hot dogs. Heck, I figured the UT players and the coach could put away a thousand dogs before halftime. Bring some extra catsup, mustard and relish for the party. He just chuckled and said he'd consider it 04-rock

lmfao You are so right you NEVER put catsup on a hot dog.

I have to admit when I have cheap hot dogs at home, I put some on. I won't put it on GOOD hot dogs though. :shhh:
