Unbelievable news that I just seen reported on AZZ. It is about time for Dakich to leave when we lose a top 3 premier player in the MAC. I can't believe this!! Please let football season start already :)
That would be a shocker all right. He was BG's key player going into this season. (Top 3 is quite a bit exaggerated though, even top 3 guard in a league with Haynes, Battle and Triplett.)
It will be interesting to see where he goes. Certainly it will be out of the MAC
Anyone know where he's going?
Speculation is possibly Oklahoma since his HS buddy Drew Lavender is with them.

Long-shot is Ohio State since he is from Columbus. But no one that I know has a definite yet.

There is also a possibility that this other school contacted him about leaving which is an NCAA violation...I don't know what that means about him possible staying at BG if it were to be true though???

Bottom line...<span style='font-size:21pt;line-height:100%'>FIRE DAKICH.....NOW!!!!!!</span>

At the time it was the right move...you know what they say about hindsight :crying:
The latest on this, as reported on AZZ:

Norm Wammer (1470am) reported that he confirmed from two different sources that Lewis was upset about bringing in a new point guard, because he "needed to play point" to prepare for the NBA!!!! He was ask about winning, and he said,"THAT IS SECONDARY!!!!!)

:(

Seriously???

What is going on up there!? From what I've read on other sites, this may cause even more madness. Dakich should be gettin a little nervous. Of course his job should be safe because after all, he showed his loyalty to BG by jetting off to WVU, only to come crawling back when the job looked too difficult. My opinion could be a little bias though, I'm a Golden Flash. 03-wink

No idea.

We all like Dan personally. It's genuine. He's a good guy.

But there is a lot of huffing and puffing going on right now among Falcon fans today.
Now there is a lot of huffing and puffing from Lewis's family.

<a href='http://www.toledoblade.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20040811/SPORTS03/408110357' target='_blank'>Lewis wants to leave Falcons</a>
"Other kids have left the program and been granted a release. Why has our family [been] the only family to be accused of wrongdoing - because he's a definite asset to the team?

"Since BG has chose to go public and accuse our family of wrongdoing, they will hear from our lawyer and a later public statement."

Ouch!
Mommy whining about being treated unfairly, threatening to sue, trying to sound smarter than she is with misplaced words. Does this remind anyone else of Terry Reynolds?

Not to mention that both Reynolds and Lewis seem to care about their own careers more than the team. I hope Lewis goes somewhere else and stinks it up so bad that if he ends up playing professionally anywhere it ends up being in the Polish Pierogi League!
Dakich - a chip off the Bob Knight block. When someone wants to leave, make sure everyone understands that he's either a bum of has done something inappropriate.

bucking for the "most unfounded" post of the year?

Two BG players have left. No problem. You were saying...

Meanwhile, this one had some questionable activity that deserved further investigation. Dakich is on vacation and has no quotes, but you were saying...

:ownd:
Maybe Dakich should just wait until the season is about to start and quit a la NIU's Brian Hammill. Or spend one of the team's rare tourney appearances angling for the job at Bradley, like NIU's Jim Molinari. Now that's class.

Hypothetically speaking, of course.

(It wasn't even a Big Dance the last time Bowling Green played in the NCAA Tournament. More like a Medium Dance).
Anyone that has been "fortunate" enough to be around the Bob Knight school of program "leadership" knows that you don't get quoted calling a kid a bum, you put out the information through your many loyal sources (if you aren't with me, you're against me).

And it's not about the number of transferees - believe it or not, Knight really didn't have many more transferees than an average program. It's the style by which high-profile transferees leave. Luke Recker was the second Hoosier golden boy in the last 2 decades (Steve Alford being the first). He's now public enemy #1 because he left (or at least he was - many are just trying to forget about him now).

Don't believe me? Find a Hoosier fan and ask him about Neil Reed.
What's going on with Steven Wright at BG? Wasn't he about to leave or get tossed?
There was talk of that. Apparently, he's still in the fold.
