The C. David Snyder Terminal opened in April 2002. Serving as a gateway to the university, the building boasts 6500 square feet and includes a large passenger waiting area, pilot's lounge and snooze rooms, offices for the airport director, transportation coordinator, pilots, aircraft attendants, a weather station and flight planning room, and a conference room. The architecture combines the familiar signature brick of Ohio University with the sloped roof- line of an airport hangar. It is a modern, functional facility designed by Columbus architect, Tony Schorr.

The inspiration came from David Snyder's vision and financial support of Ohio University's commitment to regional economic development. Snyder Terminal is a tribute to the many people who worked on this project and a beautiful facility for those who will come through the airport for travel, meetings, learning, and who will visit Ohio University and southeastern Ohio for the very first time.

We've always had an airport.

Its upgraded to the level of a regional airport that can support small commercial aircraft with talk of bringing in an airline.

I've flown from BG's airport before....helicopter ride
who cares :snore:
When the MAC introduces stunt flying as a sport, then you can have the nicest tarmac award.
Why did you post that?

No one knows, GoCats, no one knows. It is better if you don't ask. Just smile, nod your head, and simply move on.

I thought it had finally ended after his last post about our academic involvement in the Middle East.

This is for Lakeland Rocket, who insists OU does not have an airport. Which is funny because over the years one of the more notable facts about the OU is that it owns a university airport, which not many schools can claim.

I've flown from Toledo's regional airport. Not much of a facility. Just a step up from what we have at Ohio University.
So they fly paper airplanes where you see the guy winding up the rubber band-driven proppellers down there at OU Puddle Hopper Airport.

Can indoor plumbing be far behind?

I must be famous. I have my own thread.

Kit-Kat, I'll give you this. For the grief that you take (mostly self inflicted), you remain reasonably civil. Keep up the good work. 04-bow
If my view from Route 50 has been accurate for these past 30+ years, among the 2002 upgrades at the OU airport was finally paving the runways.

Hell, even Delphos has an airport. You have to mow it, but they've got one.

When you are 30-45 minutes from one of the top 10 busiest airports in the country, you are not going to have a need for a big airport. :withstupid:
I've heard Oxford has the finest bus terminals in all of the MAC.

Toledo was a close second, losing only due to bench style seating instead of the more comfortable chair back style.
