I was about to post this on the offers thread, as I would love a return. but might be more fitting here. I would say 8, btw.
If Noah returns hypothetically speaking, we would have a starting lineup of: Lovejoy, Noah, Osojnik, Billingsley, Geeter. With Henry, Tingler, Rice, and Jihad coming off the bench. That would be a very solid team.
Don’t think it happens though for a number of reasons.
If Noah came back I would buy season tickets again because we would be very competitive. Maybe bring back Mo Njie too

He's just another "me first" player making a mockery of a bad system.
I agree with this. Wonder if he ever gets tired of being a vagabond?

RE: Transfer Portal and Nil
BTW, if we see a player transferring between his junior and senior years it is probably because of sports.
Who, other than athletes, would transfer schools between their junior and senior year? Maybe lose a bunch of credits. Mismatch in academic programs?

Payton Sparks doing the Ali Ali thing now. Back to Ball State.
Perhaps I am a dinosaur when I reject the thought of Farrakhan returning.

If Akron did not accept Ali Ali back, would they have made the tourney last year? I have no idea I guess, but having Ali Ali certainly did not hurt.

The Noah Farrakhan his first year, is still better then any guard we currently have.........Bring him back for.one season........It has been 27 years since we won the MAC, and went dancing.......What do we've to.lose.

Who knows? He was, however, All MAC first team, I sincerely doubt Akron did as well without him.
AJ Hoggard from MSU is looking into the draft and also in the portal. Izzo wished him well but stated that "he will not be back at MSU". That said, it has been a while since MSU basketball has been relevant. Maybe Tom and I are both prehistoric.

I watched the Noah-Emoni team in person. I have NEVER seen such a disconnect between players and coach, the inmates were indeed running the asylum and it was manifested in their HORRIBLE record. I know Emoni was a huge problem, but how much was on Noah as well? I absolutely love his talent but knowing Bates was gone, he decided to leave as well. Last season's team was night and day to the previous one, lots of hustle, attention to coaching and they celebrated each other's accomplishments.
Can Stan manage somebody who is looking to play at his fourth different school in five years?

Here in Iowa, we had a 5-star Left tackle, Kadyn Proctor, a mountain of a man who committed to Iowa, changed his mind and went to Alabama, had a good freshman season, decided to come home and transferred to Iowa after Saban retired, he was at Iowa for 3 months and changed his mind again and returned to Alabama. If anyone thinks this is normal or good for college athletics, I don't know what to tell them. It is a farce and no, I don't want Farrakhan back at EMU. We lost with him, we can lose without him.

RE: Transfer Portal and Nil
I would definitely welcome a return from Noah.
However, I ageee with BobW overall. The players need some freedom to be able to move around. But the extent of what is happening right now can not be considered “normal” nor “good” for anyone.
This is what it should be about…

good read. seems NCAA sports is resembling the rough and tumble world of business with at-will employment.

Under traditional functioning of the NCAA (amateurism and restricted recruiting/transferring), then I would be appalled by this. But in the current NCAA functioning which Splaining advocates for, what do you expect? You can’t have your cake and eat it too.
I hope to god the coaches at my alma mater are not doing this. I hope they are advocating continuing at EMU through graduation regardless of productivity.

Coaches were running dudes off before they changed the transfer rule.
Ron English of all people ran like 30 dudes off the team when he took over. CC only saw one leave.

Lovejoy is an awesome young man but must improve his 3 ball fg percentage. Perhaps he would be better at Wayne State or UofD.
Bring back Farrakhan to be starting Pg

Perhaps he didn't like Stan signing 2 other guards. Or maybe Stan told him that's he's not going to start.
