The sad thing is that with FAU getting an 8 seed it becomes even clearer that this team was could have been a lock if they had won 1 or 2 more games that they should have won.

Half way through the selection. Even have at least one sub .500 team so far that I've noticed.

Top 2 for each power conference gets an auto bid so if enough declined from that conference, guess we get pretty low

Yep! The administration must’ve agreed to turn it down. I think they would’ve made it.

If we don’t get some early hits in the transfer portal I’m gonna be pissed about this.

RE: NIT Selection Watch Thread
We are noted on the show as declining. We were one of five schools to decline. So it is what it is.

For me, I guess it's ok to not go to a tournament when you can. But I would have given the ones who are coming back to have a chance to get some tournament time, even if it's NIT. If we do get to go next year to the dance, those who get any tournament experience will have at least one game in that environment. It's just a different world.

The people on ESPN are losing their minds that a team and a coach could make a decision to not play no matter what. Mainly for the same reasons I gave. They argue that you don't have a lot of times and games for players and COACHES to practice live.

I'm not sure what drove the decision overall. I would imagine the toxicity of the team and the season is such that there was no way to make any other decision but this one. But if that is the case, it makes me question where we are right now in this program going forward.

I hope and pray that Penny gets some time to sort it all out and does. I also pray that his mother gets better. Since I don't know much about that, I will not even attempt to try to walk in his shoes. It's a tough job that is thankless at times. It is sometimes impossible to do any job when someone you love is struggling. So all I can do is offer up my prays for Penny.

Again, see you all in the fall. And hopefully this next fall will be good for the Tigers in all ways.

GTG!!
Choose joy.

I'm thinking Penny had no desire to be with this team any more. I feel certain that almost all of the players have left the campus and no more class attendance for them this year. Already have one player announce for the portal. That's just the tip of the iceberg.

Didn't we lose damn near half the team to the portal after winning the NIT a few years ago? If that Team had stayed together the sky was the limit. I don't see any upside even if you end up winning it all. Plus I want to forget about Quinerly, Walton, Brown ever playing for Memphis.

Penny is also dealing with personal issues.. His mom is sick.. but he lost this team back in January.

Why would practice matter when your team is made up of transfer 5th year seniors?
