As much as I hated the shift to the AL after 80+ yrs of being a NL city (remember the Buffs were a St Louis Cards affiliate), Drayton was a decent owner, improving the dome and building downtown-of course compared to McMullen-anything. My sole complaint about him was the continuing grab for over the hill free agents and destruction of the minor league system. Total overreach to be "competitive" every year.

No where near to the gang of three.

No where near to the gang of three.

His main interest in getting a new stadium was to increase the team’s value so he could sell it.
