Had the alliance not done that you'd have 8 definite schools:

SEC: Alabama, Georgia, Missouri
B1G: Michigan, Ohio State
Pac-12: Washington, Oregon
Big 12: Texas
ACC: Florida State

The debate would have been around which of Penn State, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, LSU or Arizona should be the 10th and 11th schools, and whether Liberty or SMU should get the G5 access 12th spot.

Florida State or Alabama would get a 1st round hosting a G5 school in a game that would have meaning, and then the two would face each other in the quarter final bowl game. (Today the access bowl is a bogey prize --I call it the monkey claw-- for the P5 school who draws that because they feel cheated and unmotivated, play like crap, while it is the biggest Christmas present ever for the G5 school; always bet on the G5 school to cover if not win, because their players and fans care.)

But the ACC tabled the proposal, thinking they had a spot nearly guaranteed. Karma.

How is Missouri a definite school but Penn State and Ole Miss are not?

I can complain. The more I think about it, the worse it gets. They have put other teams with QB injuries in. The ONLY reason Alabama got in was because it was Alabama.

There is NO valid argument for Alabama in over FSU, other than that is what the committee wanted.

All the committee should be banned for life from college sports.

No, the only ones to blame are the current committee, who picked who they wanted for ratings instead of the most worthy.
