Men's hoops gets a couple days to recoup after a big week to start. I'd tend to think we're going to draw a strong crowd Friday night at the AUBC when the Dukes take on Radford. Non-general admission appears to be all but sold out. I'm looking for 4 club seats. I know of others also looking for club options like DirtyDukes and Pitz.

Changed my plans and now coming down solo for the Friday hoops game.

I think I lucked out and got one of the last hotel rooms in the surrounding 'Burg area. Everything else was Staunton or C'Ville.

Yeah coming down for basketball game as well and pulling my son from last period to make it down in time from Jersey.

Luckily pulled over and booked a room on my way home on Saturday once GD was announced. First place I tried sold out before I could fully finished booking, but was able to get room at Hampton Inn.

Radford is very small. They play VCU Wednesday so the Dukes will have another rest advantage over a traveling team.
The Dukes are 15-4 all-time against the hapless Highlanders.
They need to make it 16-4 as this one impacts bragging rights in the Hart household.

In a weird twist, the game is actually the start of the Cancun Challenge tourney. Who knew Mexico was located in the Shenandoah Valley?
Hola senor. Juegas basketball?

The basketball team will have just as much distractions as the football team because of CGD. Hopefully they keep focused.

We need to pack the house as now the #24 team in the nation! 8PM start would’ve been fantastic to help get some RVA or NOVA Dukes there.

Just found out HS Frosh son has half day Friday so things are really coming together. Should be now able to get down in time for quick dinner and then the game.

Cancun Challenge is real weird. The "Rivera Division" (aka the more prominent participating schools) include JMU, Southern Illinois, Fresno State and New Mexico State and all four schools get home games against one of the "Mayan Division" schools (aka low participating majors) of Radford, Chicago State, Morgan State and Northern Colorado. Afterwards the schools will play in Cancun next week in traditional tournament format in their respective "divisions".

Will be there in the Club. Wife went to Radford. Don’t worry, both daughters went/go to JMU. She now bleeds purple! Gonna be a great weekend. Go Dukes!

This weekend is my wife's birthday weekend and a few weeks ago I said let's fly up and go to the basketball game Friday night and the football game Saturday. She nixed that as not a fun birthday weekend so I sold my App State tickets on Seatgeek. Now JMU football is ranked and has Gameday and basketball is ranked and I think now she wishes she had said yes. (and I definitely wish she had said yes) She is a Bama fan but highly supports JMU as well (we went to the first two Gamedays and Homecoming this year) Have fun all!

Wife and I are coming down early on Friday for CGD and the football game so I think we will stop by the bank for the Mens game Friday evening.

It's Radford week in mens basketball and this never gets old:

Radford is a pretty dangerous team. Was picked #2 preseason big south. Just beat Marshall and hung around with UNC for most of the game until UNC finally pulled away. Wouldn't be shocked if this was another tourney team we're facing. I haven't check if they have size or not, but they are a good shooting and rebounding team. Outrebounded Marshall and went pretty even with UNC in that regard. They have a weakness for turnovers though. Think we'll probably put on full court pressure similarly like how we did against Howard to hopefully expose that.

This is an obvious trifecta weekend for real JMU sports fans.
