JAX State is LIKELY BOWL BOUND!!

Predictions are starting to come out that there Will NOT be enough eligible teams to fill all the slots.

A rare event for a team still in it's second year of transition.

The Athletic---says Stewart Mandel and Scott Dochterman have JAX STATE in the Bahamas Bowl (played this year in Charlotte) vs Central Michigan.

Saying it will be THAT particular bowl is just an educated GUESS at this point.

(You would be fortunate to have a Bowl game Just five hours away.)

But they seem fairly certain that the Gamecocks WILL go Bowling. Congratulations!!

If we don't bowl, I'm gong to send letters and petitions to the NCAA, ask our state senators to threaten the NCAA with regulation and demand all of you boycott the conference title game. We deserve special treatment!

There are currently 20 teams that have officially been eliminated from bowl consideration. That doesn’t include Hawaii, who could still finish 6-7 as I have seen conflicting information concerning that status. But they host 8-1 Air Force Saturday so hopefully that ends their chances.

Anyway, we need 30 more to get their seventh loss and one game Saturday involved two 3-6 teams so there is one more right there.

It does look good for us but I’m not getting excited yet. A game in Charlotte would be ideal. But I’ll worry about the actual spot when it happens. I have seen us slotted in various bowls and I think most of these are just people pulling stuff out of their butts.

I think I saw where it was a 97% chance you'll get a bowl. Not a lock, but very close to it. A Troy / JSU bowl would be high on my list. I think that'd be pretty exciting for both programs. Troy will likely get paired before JSU is able to be selected, though.

JSU fans-- you are all set--you will be bowling.

With Buffalo's loss last night, our "Magic Number" is down to 30. There's a chance it'll drop even further before Saturday's games.

I don't think it'll officially hit zero until the final Saturday of the season, so that should temper our expectations for a bit.

As for our bowl destination, I've seen multiple projections so far -- some from people who might know what they're talking about, others not so much -- and some of the proposed matchups have been VERY intriguing. At the end of the day, though, we'll just be happy to get in anywhere. If the game is within an easy drive from Birmingham or Atlanta, so much the better.

Would love to go to a bowl game but Im surprised with the season we have had so far.

The rules allow for requesting a waiver. I suggest JSU follow the rules and request one. No need to leave things up to chance.

Neither of those schools deserve anything.

I seriously doubt it happens this year but I see a world where Montgomery and Mobile do their best to get Troy vs Jax State in a bowl game. It would be a sell out in either location.
