RE: 2023-2024 College Basketball Season Thread
The potential NIT field is going to be loaded. There are a lot of NCAA tournament quality teams that are not going to get in this year. In turn the bottom of the NCAA bracket is going to be weak as a lot mid-major 1 seeds lost and bids that have been stolen are not exactly coming from teams that were close to bubble at the start of the week.

Oregon won the last 12 PAC Tournament and their C went 12 for 12 from the field. Another Bubble busted today!

Isn't that always the case with the Not In Tournament?

Maybe Oregon just takes Colorado's spot.

Not that it is worth a pile of beans but Colorado's been in Lunardi's last four in for forever.

Lunardi looked shaken last night. He's never had to do so much work on the Saturday before Selection Sunday.

Lunardi's opinion means oogatz. Committee would be asinine to leave out a top 25 NET team with Colorado's resume. Send them to Dayton at worst.

It's sorta how I feel about Oklahoma. And FAU has one great neutral court win outweighed by several WTF Q4 losses. I don't think they deserve a bid but they will get one off the name made from last year's run.

Been a fun week of watching conference championship games. I do sorta think too much weight has been put on a few days for a few of the teams that catapulted up the boards of late.

Oklahoma hasn’t won a game in regulation since February 10th over Oklahoma State. They have fluke overtime wins over UC and Oklahoma State and six losses since then.

I am pretty confident they don’t get in. Honestly none of the sub .500 Big XII are going to get in. Although if you just use BPI, Kenpom, or NET. The Cats would be only Big XII bubble team safely in the field.

Lunardi has had Oklahoma in every update including today's as the last team in. Their resume is so meh. They have never really passed the eyeball test either.

He finally moved St. Johns and Seton Hall out. It was nuts to me that they had been in all week until today.

St. john’s is in my computer average bracket but I am going to have run a few more projections. Seton Hall is no where close.

I never understood Seton Hall. But they did beat St. John's twice in the regular season and finished 2 games up on St. John's in the final BE standings. I think that's what they were in all week...had to find a way to justify Pitino getting a bid.

Yep, the beauty of all the conference tourney upsets is embarrassing the so called "expert bracketologists". Of course they're mostly shameless anyway; living large off the fruits of a selection process that purports to give the appearance of objectivity but annually makes a half dozen head scratching decisions on ins or outs.

None of that is to say UC should be "in" this year. The Bearcats made great progress: a 20 win season, impressive upsets of ranked opponents, and a victory over the biggest brand in the B12 (Kansas). All that suggests our team should return to March Madness next season with their fate not being decided on the final weekend at the hands of a committee.

So fun watching St. John's jump in NET...now up to 32...they jumped up after losing to UConn 95-90 and then jumped another couple spots this morning because things. They picked up 12 spots by beating Seton Hall and losing to Uconn. NET as a front line tool is such a joke.

...and the Pitino mystique will carry them the rest of the way into the brackets later today.

Heck, Louisville might even want Slick Rick back after returning St. John's to the dance. 05-stirthepot

Kenpom bounced them up even more than NET did. They went all the way up to 26th this morning. Lol

A team that wasn't even in the discussion a week ago skyrocketed by beating powerhouse Seton Hall in what was a home game for them at MSG and by losing to Uconn. It's silly.

Lunardi has Kansas 14th on the S curve this morning. That actually moved up this week 03-lmfao That team is going to be 2 full seeds higher than they deserve to be and they likely still won't make it out of the first weekend.

St. Johns moves up yet another spot in kenpom this afternoon. Now 25th. 03-lmfao

There is no point anywhere in the multiverse that St. John's is top 25.

A 10-seed play-in game is something.

It’s what happens when bids get stolen and bubble shrinks. It wouldn’t shock me that this is one of the last tournaments with 68 teams. Expansion is going to happen the only question is how big?
