Yep! if Clemson and FSU head to the SEC, I figure it could be VT, UVa, Carolina, NC State, Duke, Georgia Tech, Miami AND Syracuse all moving to the B1G to get them to 24.

I don't think anyone is joining the ACC in the foreseeable future but if we're just spitballing, let me throw out the name of Georgia State. It's a little bigger than USF. It's a majority minority school. Given its history and geography, the ACC could certainly use a majority minority school. Ga. Tech may not want a cross town rival but that sort of thing has worked pretty well for Duke, UNC and NCSU.

IMO, Georgia Tech needs to MERGE with Georgia State. Together, they would be a power to reckon with in the Peach State and beyond!

All of this presupposes that the money will be there to pay for all this movement...?

It's as more realistic as than Georgia State.

In my opinion, the ACC can leave USF in the AAC unless the B12 approaches them. We really don't want them to join the B12.

This was the SEC’s strategy with FSU. Worked out well,

I'll put it thusly: if Ga Stste wants to merge with Tech & vice versa, I have no problem with that. Unfortunately, the problem comes from the GABOR. Basically, every state college & university in the state of Georgia is a part of the University of Georgia system, which to me is dumb. T G5

They're not on the Big XII's radar and frankly don't make much sense there. The Big XII took the most successful second tier football program in FLA that plays subpar basketball.

Personally if at a reduced rate I would have no problem with bringing in USF and Memphis before say the Big 12 adds them leaving few if any other schools outside of the PAC. Memphis while not an academic threat by any means has always been competitive in sports and isn’t that why we are always reading these boards anyway. I remember before Taggart and Strong crashed USF football they were not a team to ever take lightly and Tampa/St Petersburg has easy access to get to from anywhere and has low rate direct flights into it.

I wouldn't say USF is not on the Big XII's radar... maybe not as high a priority as the Four Corners schools, but it's definitely "on the radar".

USF won’t get in until FSU leaves or is set to leave. You seem to have personal issues with FSU btw.

I have issues with openingly undermining the league. Pay your fees and leave if the school doesn't want to be in the ACC anymore.

BTW, my dream scenario is our BB in the Big East and the rest of our sports in the ACC...but realize the ACC is our best place.

I have no issues with most FSU fans including you. I'd love to meet you someday at a game.

No. Temple >> Buffalo, and even the Owls are a hard sell.

If you're going to "pry someone away", let it be Cincinnati.

The most valuable remaining G5 teams are UConn (basketball) and SMU (both sports).

Pry?

WVU would bring the highest ratings of any Big XII program. That’s why they were actually looked at recently, not Cincinnati or Temple or UB. It was WVU and SMU.

Maybe USF should merge and or buy Florida Tech than rebrand as Florida Tech with some branch campuses

That would be an excellent expansion pair (but I thought there was no way WVU could get enough votes).
