RE: A Four-Decade Secret: One Man’s Story of Sabotaging Carter’s Re-election
I really think what killed Ford and what most angered me about Ford was pardoning Nixon.

It wasn’t until years later after he was out of office he explained why he did it. He said that every start of his day was a mob of reporters asking questions about Nixon. He thought after a couple of weeks it would calm down. But months later it was as if it was day one. He stated he couldn’t go about the business of being President and doing his job. It was consuming everyday and the nation was suffering because of it. He had to do what he thought was best for our country knowing the backlash he would take for it.

And just like that after he pardoned Nixon all the mob of reporters dissipated and he was able to manage the office.

That is by definition a leader. I wished he would’ve explained that during the election and it would have given people like myself a different perspective.

Carter waz the President like Biden that should have never taken place. And like our generation paid for Carter this generation will pay dearly for Biden. Some already have but the true effects won’t be felt at least a decade into future.

WASHINGTON — It has been more than four decades, but Ben Barnes said he remembers it vividly. His longtime political mentor invited him on a mission to the Middle East. What Mr. Barnes said he did not realize until later was the real purpose of the mission: to sabotage the re-election campaign of the president of the United States.

It was 1980 and Jimmy Carter was in the White House, bedeviled by a hostage crisis in Iran that had paralyzed his presidency and hampered his effort to win a second term. Mr. Carter’s best chance for victory was to free the 52 Americans held captive before Election Day. That was something that Mr. Barnes said his mentor was determined to prevent.

Everybody knew this in 1979. I think Ted Koppel even stated it was a rumor. Jimmy Carter didn't lose because of hostages. He lost because gasoline was around .57 cents a gallon when he came into office. Within a couple of years we had lines at the gas station (not seen since WWII when we had ration coupons for gasoline) and the cost was over $2 a gallon. People were asked to keep their thermostats at 78 degrees, and the speed limits on the interstate highway system was set at 55mph.

This managed to piss off housewives, piss of truck drivers, piss off teenagers who could vote and drive, and piss off most major industry because the overhead of transportation impacted everything, just like today!

But hey you could buy a 6 pack of Billy Beer for 1.99. If it was ice cold you couldn't taste the swill which if warmer gave you bitter beer taste.

That's why Jimmy lost to Ronnie. What hurt Carter was not the release of the hostages but the botched rescue mission that flew into a sandstorm and turned into clustertruck of a situation costing American lives, and that happened while Ross Perot got his own private soldiers in to rescue his personnel. It was Perot who embarrassed the hell out of Carter, not Reagan.

But you thin skinned lie believing publicly educated children wouldn't know any of that!

Yep, after that botched attempt to rescue the hostages Perot showed us it could be done with the right personnel.

Then, again that failure was a microcosm of his whole Presidency.

Carter was a Saint and Mount Rushmore material compared to the sleezy **** show we have now! If Biden let BLM set fire to DC he could easily replace Nero in the history books. But hell, if he did that the Dems would just run Caligula next!
