Our most senior player (Malcolm) hasn’t demonstrated any leadership potential.
Mikey Williams has way more red flags coming in than Emoni Bates ever did. Even if you bring in a transfer veteran, Williams wants to run the show.
I have a strong feeling we are going to have a lot of drama next season
I have probably been under a rock, but what red flags have we seen……other than being a little big headed and stepping over a player after dunking on them.
My assumption/hope is he will assume KD’s lead guard role & we will have some growing pains as he acclimates to college, but once he does both him as an individual & us as a team have a great opportunity to be successful.
Other programs backed off of him due to concern about his ability to play team ball. Big personality on and off the court. Has a habit of devolving into hero ball. Did not come here to play second fiddle. Bringing in a KD type will not go over well with him

So, automatically Mikey Williams is a massive problem before he’s set foot on campus? That’s hilarious

He’s a risk. It’s been pretty well documented on the recruiting trail. Other major programs backed off. Sometimes risks pay off— maybe Penny is just the mentor he needs.
You don’t have to be Nostradamus to foresee the potential challenge:
He came to be the star. This is going to severely limit bringing in an experienced PG (Mikey will chafe and no KD type is going to want to come and share minutes).

You have no idea how it will turn out. Also, Ty-Laur Johnson is probably going to be the point guard. Mikey is a combo guard.
I know you hate Penny, but geez, nobody has the ability to proclaim several months before we tip it off next year that it’s going to be a disaster. That’s just goofy.

My request is that if you can get elite transfers sure but no more McCadden or Franklin types to fill out the roster. Invest that playing time into J. Lawson or a freshman like Cherenant or Ashton.

Agree, we don't need a 6-10 guy, we need a big burly guy with an attitude.

It’s pretty much a waste to invest in any freshman who aren’t starters or at least a 18min guy now. You bring one along slow and they just transfer. Probably aren’t gonna be seeing any Jeremiah Martins anymore.

All I ask is if he needs to create space, that he has his sons to walk on instead of running someone off to create an open scholarship.

I believe we can be dangerous with a few additions quick.
Next year doesn't have to be a rebuilding year.
It's very difficult in this wild west environment to have a rebuilding year. NIL & the transfer portal make it near impossible to build a team by roster retention. You either recruit it or you don't have it. Hard to win with freshmen but if they sit they transfer.
The only trouble college basketball has is the $ factor. Hopefully the NIL keeps players in college longer than jumping to the NBA and failing. The college game is losing to the D-league, the G-league, the NBA, the overseas market, the NCAA, the IARP etc. The way things are going the men may be allowed to play in the WNBA.

Excited too just wish he was a little bit taller (cue Skee-lo) because his body type reminds me of Boogie. Although to Boogie's credit he seemed to come into his own at USC. Just like FAU the move now is to throw out four shooters and a big. That's the type of team that beat us all year (Tulane, Houston, UCF). Its almost like you can't afford to start someone who is a defensive specialist because it hurts you so bad on offense.

Or maybe he’s just a person who has seen your stupid posts over the year and finally decided to set up an account to call you out on it. Your schtick is tire and overplayed. Come out of the basement and enjoy live. If you can that is.

So that MSU guy that finds problems with every single post and starts fights with every single person on the board gets banned and now a new guy pops up that finds problems with every single post and trying to start fights with every single person....
hrm... scratch my head....
anyone else notice how good the board has been lately pre-thisguy showing up?
