I guess I'm old. I remember the mid-major greats from the 70s and 80s. Machine Gun Kelly, Hershey Hawkins and Freeman Williams. Not the more recent ones.

Averaging 43 or 44 points per game, he has the 3 highest season averages. Only two other players even cracked 39 ppg. Nobody has even hit 31 ppg in the last 30 years.

If anyone ever averages 44.0 a game, they'll be off to the NBA as soon as possible. So his record for 83 games is safe.

The guy who had an extra sixty games finishes three points behind Maravich. But if one of those stupid extra tournaments invites his crappy team he will break the record.

I wonder if we'll see Detroit in the CIT or CBI. If he wants the record bad enough, he can get it there.

Davis took about 35-40% of the shots for his team. Maravich took between 55-60% of his teams shots. This has always been a meaningless record, Davis taking it would’ve helped everyone see that.
